Pointing the fingers

There's a tablet inside the chest. Amarie reads it, and Shaadira pulls herself out of her Trey-induced rage long enough to listen.

The doll dwells inside a wicked little house, which waits in the north corner on the third floor. Two guests, selected by vote, must place this tablet on the mantle outside the room and the door will be opened in a moment, but what lies inside will haunt them forever...

Kai groans. So does Daniel. Shaadira, on the other hand, she feels a rush of vindictive satisfaction.

Shaadira
Finally. Another vote. The bitch is going down.

"Yeah...see..." Trey, of course, can't keep his damn mouth shut "Let's take a vote...". His wishy-washy tone only strengthens Shaadira's decision. "Yeah," she snarls "Let's definitely take a vote, because I know exactly who I'm voting for.". "It's about time." A smug smile forms on Mary's flushed face. Mary jabs a finger at Trey "It's time for Trey to go!". Trey frowns "This just seems a little irrational—".

"No!"

"Who votes Trey?"

Mary, Shaadira, Nancy, Bethany, Rita and Bryan raise their hands. Kai keeps his down at first, but a well-timed shove from Bethany sends it scrambling into the air as well. "We didn't even vote!" Trey protests.
"Trey!"

Shaadira
Why is he defending himself? Wasn't he the one who spent the last hour insisting that we're all doomed?

"You made it very clear that you wanted to die earlier today!" Shaadira shouts.

Shaadira
This is what you wanted. We're putting you out of your misery. Don't complain.

"But I still get a vote, though," he insists "I still get a vote.". "Okay, let him do his job," says Shangag defensively. Alec grabs the tablet "We need to take this with us.". But Shaadira isn't listening. She storms off, red-hot fury tightening its grip around her heart "I hope it's Trey and Trey that gets pulled!" she shouts over her shoulder. Bryan glances over at Devon who waves his hands in protest and goes after her. "Wow." Trey shakes his head "That's a little aggressive, don't you think?". She's not the type of girl to wish death on people, but...God, she wants him gone.
"...telling you, Trey's a lost cause..."
They're back inside, and Shaadira's glaring at Trey like he's on trial and she's the prosecution. Mary will let Shaadira take over the Trey Must Die department for a change. She sits next to Shangag. Her hairdo has completely unraveled, leaving her hair a stringy, unkempt mess. The blue towel around her shoulders is all that's keeping her from freezing to death right here on the couch. Kiersten breaks the silence "Well. That got interesting out there.". "Yeah," says Trey with a defensive shrug "You guys are just a little too turned up here.".
Shaadira's eyes narrow "Turned up?" she growls. "Is that the correct word for right now? Do we wanna party with someone like DJ Snake or Nicki Minaj right now?" She stands up, her face with rage, her hands curled into fists "I don't think so Trey.". "I don't have to say anything," Mary crosses her legs and points out "She's saying it all for me.". "You stand to the side," Shaadira continues, doing just that, "and say 'I'm gonna let you guys take care of this one.'". She sits back down "So let's take care of you!". "That was a good impression," Bethany admits. Trey rolls his eyes. "Another challenge, another chance to die, and everyone's turning against me. Again. Why? Because I get it now? Because I realize just how hopeless our circumstances are? You guys suck. Shaadira, you're out here acting like we're able to fight forever. Before you know it, you're precious little "boyfriend" and friends will die. You know it too." Trey chuckles. Shaadira cracks and gets off the couch. She walks her way over to Trey and before anyone could say a word, Trey gets a full on smack to his face. That's what breaks the silence. People start to gasp and talk over one another. Trey tries getting big with Shaadira. Devon gets in the way and for a second, it almost feels like a fight might unravel. Bryan and Shangag come in between them, Shangag holds Trey back while Bryan holds Shaadira and Devon back. Thomas breaks up the disputes "Let's put it to a vote. It's time.". "I vote that they all suck." Trey shouts. They want him to die. And that, more than anything, is what reignites his will to live. Thomas looks at Alec "Alec. You're first. Go on.". He comes up to the voting table and looks down at the cards. He picks his vote and then walks back to his seat. Octavia. Then Nyadhol. Tamaya. Kiersten. Shangag. Alexis. Cole. Bethany. Alexis. Kai. Mary. Nancy. Amarie. Rita. Bryan. Sophia. Shay. Shaadira. Devon. "I hate this," groans Daniel. "I love this." Shaadira's voice is a low "I want him out.". The rest of the voting process is a blur to Trey. Before he knows it, it's over, and Thomas has chosen the first name.

"Trey."
"Of course it is," scoffs Mary.

Mary
Of course. Of course. Of course.

"And the second name..."

Shangag squirms in his seat. Is he the one of the only individuals not a member of the Trey Must Die club? He's an alright guy. They're friends. They're friends. Dude has his issues, but he doesn't deserve—

"...is Shangag."

Shangag
Shit.

Bryan
Everyone is surprised by that vote.

People don't even know what to say. Trey shakes his head "I was not expecting that.". "Let's get this done." sighs Daniel. Shangag smiles.

Shangag
Breathe. It's fine. I got this.

"And we might not die."
"He's gonna die," snarls Mary, pointing at Trey "If he comes back alive...". Her voice drops several octaves "If he come back alive, we're gonna kill him.".

Shangag
Damn. She can be scary.

Trey
They're wrong. They're making a mistake. They'll miss him when I'm gone.

"Trey!"

"Come back, Shangag!"

"I'm so sorry..."

This is never going to end.
Kiersten quickly runs over to Shangag, brings him into a hug and then kisses him on the lips.
"Please come back to me."
Shangag nods softly and kisses her back.
