Partners Yet Again

"So these are the same rules like before. If the fighter loses," says Kai "then the person who...". "...chose that fighter..." continues Shangag. "They die." Kai nods. "Great! The pressure is back!" exclaims Mary.

Kyler
I don't even want to think about being a a partner again, we know what happened last time..

"So how are we going to do this?" Kiersten asks. For like the twentieth time, the teenagers huddle into groups, trying to figure out who should die. "All right.." whispers Amarie "So who has been, like, not contributing a lot?". Tamaya runs through the guest list in her head. "Girl I'm gonna be honest. I personally think it's gotta be Brynn. She's the explorer, but I really haven't seen her stick out anymore." Tamaya crosses her arms, explains to her small group why she has Brynn in mind. "I mean she's not exactly wrong." Nyadhol mumbles in response. Amarie and Octavia give their opinion as well. They come to a conclusion. Brynn Nelson it is.

If Sophia's going to survive, she needs allies. She chooses Shangag, who's proven himself to be one of the strongest players so far, and Shay, who's been sticking by her side all night. "Guys," she tells them "I think we should vote for Bethany.". "Bethany?" Shangag raises an eyebrow "Why? What did she do?". "That's the problem. I don't think she's pulling her weight."

Sophia
Bethany's a sweetie, and I know that she's trying her hardest, but trying isn't going to cut it around here. Sorry, girl. Don't kill me Kai

Bryan listens to the conversations around the room and he picks up on three names. Bethany. Brynn. and Nancy. He's the one that has to break the news to the three girls. "So you guys know," he says "I've heard your names tossed around.". The three girls feel their courage dwindle.

Brynn
Me? People are voting for me? Does that mean they want me dead?

Nancy
I'm actually scared right now. I'm now on the table to potentially die.

Bethany
I've already been voted once, now I gotta go again!

None of the certainly don't deserve to be killed by clowns because of it! But despite Brynn's mental reassurance, the others are still whispering, and the beautiful lounge feels darker and uglier than it did ten minutes ago. "It is now time to vote," announces Calliope, who stands in front of them with a table full of cards "Grab the ticket with the face of the person that you would like to enter into the challenge. I will shuffle, and then draw two.". Amarie takes into consideration how the cards are the same ones used by Thomas, but she figures its best not to ask why.

"Amarie, you may go first."

Amarie walks up to the table. She selects an Explorer card and hands it to Calliope without thinking.

Shangag
Calliope just so happens to have the cards from before, like that's not weird. Okay!

Shangag mutters something to himself as he goes up to vote. A sea of faces lie against the table. He apologizes to Bethany mentally as he hands in a Super Spy card. Sophia's next and she also picks a Super Spy card. The Engineer tucks her hair behind her ears as she approaches the table. She casts her vote for Tamaya. Alec is up and he sighs as he picks up a Daredevil card.

Alec
Devon. You're a great guy. But I really don't even remember what you did my dude

Then everyone finishes going as Bryan is the last to go. He hands in a Photographer card. Then returns to his seat.

"I will now shuffle, and then draw two." says Calliope in rather apologetic tone.

Everyone spontaneously remembers that this could be the end, and a gaggle of nervous chatter fills the room as Calliope shuffles the cards. They try to be positive. But after sixth deaths already. It's hard for them.

Calliope draws a card and shows it to the group.

"The Fashionista."

Nancy freezes up. She feels so betrayed and hurt by the announcement of her name. "What?!?" gasps a majority of the group at once. "Who voted you?" Alexis asks Nancy, as if she knew by who she was voted. "Who voted for..." Bethany looks so surprised, along with her close friends. "Who voted for you?" murmurs Rita. Nancy, however, for sheer best to stay calm. To keep a strong smile and to not fall apart. She's got this. She already has three people in mind that she can choose for a partner. Brynn cannot believe that Nancy is going into the challenge. She's always helping and trying to keep the group on track. Once everyone's done being shook, Calliope picks a second card.

"The Explorer."

Brynn's heart sinks. They really do want her gone. The people that are supposed to be her friends!

Brynn
How could they do this to me!?

"Oh my god.." breathes Kyler, extremely worried for her friend. People look at her with rather guilty eyes, but some know they're the reason she's in this situation. Cassidy was first, is it now her turn?

Brynn
I don't know what the clowns have planned if one of us loses, but since they're killer clowns and all, it's probably not good..

So Nancy's opponent is Brynn.

Nancy
I've always liked Brynn, she's really like nice and funny. It like hurts, to see the both us in this situation..

"Please select a partner to fight for you," says Calliope "starting with the person who was chosen first.". Nancy's been debating her choices since she was called. Narrowing it to three boys. Alec, Daniel and Devon. Even though technically her and Devon are somewhat friends since Shaadira and him have been on weird terms when it comes to there relationship, she can't help, but feel like she can place her life in his hands. He's quite athletic and surprisingly level-headed when he wants/needs to be. Daniel is very intelligent, a quick thinker and is good with solving things and putting puzzles together. Alec is the one she knows the best out of all three. She's gotten to spend more time with him, become good friends with him over the last two years. He's a very reliable guy who will work harder than anyone and will try to solve whatever problem presented to him.
She gives it a few seconds more then makes her mind up. "I choose Alec." She smiles at the Novelist who nods and flashes her a smile back.

Nancy
After weighing everything out, I believe Alec is my best decision.

Brynn mentally complains as soon as she hears Nancy call Alec's name.

Brynn
Well, I was actually going to pick Alec, but now that Nancy picked him first, I gotta pick someone else

"Well, I choose Cole." She trusts Cole Kreber, one of the smartest individuals she knows, a star athlete and crafty when he wants to be. Plus he's always wanting to help her and she can trust him with her life. Quite literal with her life.
Cole stands up and walks over to where Alec is already standing.

Brynn trusts me to save her, so I'll gotta do it. I can't let Brynn down..

The voted-for teenagers say their goodbyes, being a very sad moment between Brynn and Kiersten, Kyler, Mary and Shangag. Following between Nancy and Shaadira, Rita, Olivia, Alec and Bryan. Even Daniel couldn't help, but give a sad smile. The four teenagers disappear through the door, and Olivia understands only three will return...
