"This is the compass," Trey breathes, pointing at the glowing compass in front of them.
Before anyone can think of a proper response to that, a woman's voice fills the room.
"My light will lead you into forgotten realms. It will glow brightest when you move in the proper direction.
"Oh!" exclaims Olivia. "It's like Hot and Cold!"
Alexis takes the compass. It's a bit heavy, but it's nothing that she can't handle. "So it'll glow brightest when we go the right way," she murmurs.
"It's fading!" several people shout at once, and three or four pairs of hands turn Alexis around.
"Try this door," suggests Daniel.
She tries it. No luck. "It's still faded. Let's go towards the hallway." She heads for the hallway, and the compass lights up. "Oh! It's getting brighter. There we go. It's the hallway."
Everyone follows Alexis into the hallway.
Alexis Hopefully, this compass crap doesn't turn out to be a trap.
"It's getting brighter." Devon points out.
The Fixer bites her lip. "Do you think we should go this way?"
"Let's try outside." says Rita.
"Wait." Shaadira wrinkles her nose. She's already forgotten where they're supposed to be going. "What's this leading us to?"
"Another realm," is Nancy's reply.
After a while, the group reaches a door. "Here." Bryan opens it. "Try out here."
They step onto the balcony. Thunder clashes, and Bethany spends four seconds wondering if a storm's coming before she spots a strange woman standing on the grass.
Bethany The next lieutenant? To be honest, probably.
"Do you see that?" Trey lets out a breath of air.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," mutters Rita. "Should we go down there?"
They do so.
"It's thundering." Alec whispers.
"So, should we go towards her fam?" Shaadira asks. "Who is that?"
The seventeen surviving guests step onto the lawn, passing through a strange green mist in the process. Once there, they approach the woman.
