"He's right you know", Ben said, finally breaking the silence.
The boy had left the cockpit to rest, leaving them alone.
She looked across at him, frowning.
"The Jedi form no attachments. Surely Skywalker taught you that."
If he was hoping for a reaction from her, he was disappointed. She would not give him the satisfaction, she thought. She instead said, "so what's the plan? You said I would be briefed."
"For now the less you know the better".
She went to protest, but Ben held up his hand. "I'm going to get some rest. You have the controls." And with that Ben stood up and left her alone.

A few hours later Ben appeared to relieve her. He would wake her when they were close to reaching their destination.

She felt someone nudging her awake after a few hours of rest. She was grateful for sleeping so well. When she opened her eyes, she found the young boy was there. Ben must be at the controls. She swung her legs off the bed and went to the cockpit.

They were orbiting a planet. She looked at the coordinates but she didn't recognise them.

"Morning", Ben said, "we will be landing shortly. We are here to see some old acquaintances of mine. Watch your back. They will be on edge with my return."
"Who's They?" Rey asked.
"The Knights of Ren. Despite the stories you have heard, I didn't slaughter all of Skywalker's pupils. Yes, he saw the temple burn, but the bodies he saw were images implanted in his mind. It was the only way he could see I had turned to the dark side. The only way I knew he would not follow, but instead go into exile. His exile allowed me to grow and flourish in the First Order and become Kylo Ren. I'm not innocent of what I subsequently became and did. No, my actions after leaving the Jedi Temple were far from innocent. I kept in touch and helped them, so now it's time for them to help back."
"Do you think they will?" Rey asked surprised by how open Ben had been.
"Well we're about to find out," Ben replied.
"Lucas, stay on the ship", Ben said to the boy. Well at least she now knew his name.

The ship landed, and the ramp was lowered. Rey followed Ben out of the ship. She noticed he had a blaster by his hip. She also realised he had not had his lightsaber with him at anytime since she had been reunited with the Rebels.
"No lightsaber?" she said. Ben simply shook his head before walking ahead. They walked a short distance before she saw the space port up ahead. When they reached the outskirts she felt the tension in Ben ease. When the two women clad in black, their faces obscured by hoods, approached, she felt him relax.
"It's been too long, Solo", one of the women practically purred at him. Now it was Rey's turn to tense up. Who was this woman. She obviously had some history with Ben.

They were led to building which, from the outside looked ready to collapse. When the doors opened and then closed behind them, lights came on and she was taken back to the inside of a Star Destroyer given the Imperial hardware inside. She looked up at Ben. Was he smiling?
The woman who had 'purred' earlier took his arm before leading him so he could inspect the equipment. Ben soon gently released himself from the woman before saying, "we need to get started Regis. There is not much time."
From one of the side rooms a man, also dressed in black walked out. It was then she realised, just like the two women, who had since removed their outer hooded cloaks, they all had lightsabers.
The man who was surprisingly taller than Ben walked up to him. Everything in the room suddenly turned quiet. When both men were face to face, the taller man held out his hand. That's when Rey saw he lightsaber in the taller mans hand. Before she could react, he ignited it. It looked like Ben's lightsaber. But as they were all the Knights of Ren, they must all be the same. Before she could do anything, the lightsaber was extinguished.
"I've kept it safe for you", the man said before giving Ben his weapon back. Ben took it and placed it on his belt. The entire room seemed to breath a sigh of relief.
"We're ready, you just a have to say the word", he said.
"Thomas, this is Captain Rey", Ben said introducing the tall Knight of Ren. They shook hands, and then Lucas walked into the building flanked by another two Knights.
"Lucas, these men and women were trained by Luke Skywalker", by now a few more Knights had emerged from different areas of the building.

"They will help us to bring the First Order down?" Lucas asked but he knew the answer. His secret was his and his alone. For now he had to play his part.
"That's the plan kiddo", one of the women said, "now let's get back to business. Ren, let me reunite you with your ship. Rey, you'll copilot."
Rey looked up at the woman who was a little taller than her. She followed as the woman took them to another hanger to reveal another Raptor.
"I thought there was just the one", Rey said.
"Oh no, we have a few of these babies", the woman replied. "You two will pilot this one. The rest of the Knights will pilot the others. We had word that Hux had ordered a few of these but unfortunately it would seem the order never made it to the right place. They were quite expensive too." She added.
"Lieutenant Regis, your work here had been exemplary." Ben said. Rey thought he was going to get all friendly with her, but it would seem her initial presumptions were completely misguided. Commander Thomas came up behind her, and draped his arm over Regis. "See, told you we could take care of ourselves", Thomas said jovially to Ben. Rey wondered at what it must have been like when they were all training with Luke Skywalker. The Knights of Ren seemed so much like pals. She began to understand how Snoke twisted Ben's heart to turn him into what he did. She also saw with Snoke's death, how light was able to penetrate him once more. But Hux had no such power. How did he plan to turn the young Jedi taken from all corners of the galaxy? Also, how many children had Hux taken?
She was brought back to the present when Lucas gently tugged at her sleeve. She turned to look at him, "Hux thinks he can control and train the Jedi because they have young minds. He is hoping they will be tempted by the dark side of the Force. Just like Ben Solo was tempted by the dark side. If his uncle had stood by him when he sensed the darkness growing stronger, then Solo would not have turned. No matter how strong Snoke claimed to be."
Rey was beginning to understand more clearly. In the end was love all that was needed to defeat the darkness?
"We need to go", Lucas said.
"Rey, come on, we're leaving", Ben said before walking up the ramp of the Raptor.
She gave a quick goodbye and followed Ben and Lucas onto the Raptor, only this time as part of a re-awakened Rebellion.
