The Mission

As Ben's transport left, Rey went in search of Leia. She would be traveling with the Princess both as her pilot and her security officer to the Senate proceedings. She would remain on board as her mission was not of the same diplomatic nature as that of Leia's. Plus her presence may not be welcomed when Hux saw her. Especially given he had given instructions to have her and Ben executed on the mining colony.
She thought back to the moment the First Order officer, who was really a rebel spy had informed them of this. He had subsequently returned to the First Order advising the mission had been carried out. The two Jedi were gone.
Hux was not so easily convinced. But when he had questioned a few of the children they had said the officer was telling the truth.
How this had been accomplished was equally as a result of a Jedi. Lucas had informed the First Order officer that both Kylo Ren and Rey of Jakku had been involved in a fatal accident as per General Hux's wishes. After planting that thought in the mind of the officer, Lucas knew the other children would be unable to detect it as a lie.

Mining work was unfortunately a very unsafe occupation, Hux had said, even more so for prison workers who were often not afforded the same levels of safety precautions as others.
Hux had left pleased and reassured as he got ready to board his transport ship which would take him to the senate conference. His only problem left to deal with now was the Princess, he thought.

Ben, Finn and Poe were reaching their destination. Once they landed, everything went surprisingly smoothly. Their contact greeted the three men, and led them to the outskirts of town to collect their valuable cargo. They repeated this on five other worlds.

Like them, another eleven Rebel teams were doing the same.
The Raptor ships had proved reliable which was a change to what the rebels were normally use to. Generally their missions ended before they even started. So far everyone was reporting no issues. Months and months of planning was paying off. Also the connections from the First Order defector -  as he was known amongst the Rebels- Kylo Ren had proven most advantageous, even to his own men and women of the Knights of Ren, when it came to implementing the last part of their current mission.

Ben took the controls of the Raptor once the cargo was securely on board and took off to the rendezvous point. The coordinates had only been provided under a secure channel once all ships had radioed in to say they had completed the first stage of the mission. Once the coordinates were in he sent the ship into hyperspace. Due to the various locations in the galaxy once they made it to the designated rendezvous point, they would have to wait until all the other vessels had also arrived.

The waiting was always the worst part, Ben thought. It gave you time to think, and over think things.
'For how long' , Ben recalled Rey's words to him. It had been long enough he thought. When all this was over he would make sure nothing came between them again. They just had to survive the next week. And that wasn't going to be easy. Was it ever, he thought.

After a few hours all twelve Raptors had landed. Their cargo had was safely on the Rebel base and now the next phase would start.

"Time to go", Ben said to all the captains of the Raptors. "You know what you have to do. Stay safe, and keep your cargo safe. Once we arrive at the Senate Congress I will signal when to deploy." Ben paused, before adding "May the Force be with us all."
