Chapter 40

Bryce's P.O.V.

"Any news on the riddle?" I asked.

"Well, we can not find out if it is real or fake but there are multiple people wanting to test it out for you," Jeremy said. 

"I can't have people risk their lives for this," I said. 

"No I will do it for you and for Bella," Lilly said.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I am Lilly I am soulmates with Henry, she is my friend and if I die I don't care I have no one who cares for me other then Henry and it took me a lot of persuading for him to agree," Lilly said.

"I am not gonna stop you but keep in mind that you can die." I said.

"I know so when do we start?" Lilly asked.

"Whenever you want," I replied.

"Then now?" She said.

"Can I be there to watch and help?" I asked

"Of course." She said sounding happier than expected.

We all walked to the cupid gardens where the most magic is hoping that would help.

"Alright, whenever you are ready you can start."

Henry mumbled something in Lilly's ears and she nodded, they kissed and Henry bit into Lilly until she went limp. It was hard to watch. We have no clue how long it will be to know if it works or not. Henry laid her down on the grass and sat next to her with his head on her chest hoping to hear the heartbeat again. I sat on the other side of Lilly holding her hand.

It's been 1 hour and she is still laying down motionless. I can't handle this. I was about to stand up but her hand moved in my hand. Maybe I am feeling things? 

"Lilly?" I asked

Nothing...

"Lilly if you can hear me move your hand," I said

Her hand moved. 

"Henry she is alive!" I said happily.

"We need to take her to the hospital now!" I commanded. 

We rushed her to the hospital and she is hooked up to machines. Within the next hour, she was feeling better. 

"How do you feel?" I asked.

"Good I feel great actually! But my back is hurting," she said.

 "If the riddle is true you are turning into a cupid and those are your wings forming," I said.

"I get wings!" she exclaimed.

I chuckled, "yes after you are done here you will be taking cupid lessons on how to contain your wings and all the cupid stuff I am pretty sure Henry will help you settle in. I want to thank you." I said.

"No don't thank me I wanted to do this I want to thank you for finding this riddle and making me become one of you." She said.

"Well, I didn't find the riddle Jeremy did," I said.

"Doesn't matter who found it you were the one to look into it, thank you."

"Well, you are welcome and thank you for taking the risk. I gotta go and tell Bella the news." I said.

"Tell Bella I said hi!" She yelled while I was walking away.

I got to my room and noticed Zach was gone. He might be with Zoey. I grabbed my phone and dialed Bella's number.

"Hello?" Bella said.

"What not happy to hear from me?" I asked

"OH! Bryce sorry I was doing homework and didn't look at the caller ID." She said.

"It's fine, I have some good news." I said.

"That Chloe's soulmate is here and they can finally meet?" She said.

I chuckled, "No, actually I haven't looked to see where he is I have been distracted, but the good news is the riddle is real it works." I said.

"How did you find out it works where there proof in the books?" She asked.

"No, but remember that Lilly girl you met?" I asked.

"Yeah, she is so nice!" She said.

"She risked her life to find out if it works or not, and it worked!" I said.

"Wait a second you let someone risk their lives for this!" She said sounding angry.

"No, I told her that she could die and I don't want her to die but she begged and wasn't taking no for an answer," I said.

"Well I am glad she is okay and I am glad that it works so when does this happen with us?" She asked.

"Soon, tell Zoey about it and Zach if he is there," I said. 

"I will, bye Bryce I love you!" She said.

"I love you more." I said.

"I love you most." She said and hung up.
