Joochan didn't know why he didn't want to let go of her hand.
He felt as if she wanted to protect her, and so his grip on her hand tightens as they walk to his home.
As they arrive, he smiles when he sees Minhee all cozied up on his couch just after entering. He thought that he could get used to this picture.
Shaking his thoughts out, he goes over to where Minhee lies and turns on the television. "Wait for me, I'm going to make a soup for you."
"How sweet of you," She chuckles, scanning through the channels. "The question is, would your cooking make me feel better or worse?"
"You're the judge."
Joochan goes off to the kitchen, the dread filling into his mind as he questions himself: what should I cook?
He knows nothing about cooking, and it was clear just from the sounds of the kitchenware clanging to the ground, Joochan jumping in surprise. He knew he's going to fail.
And yet, he still tried. He had to at least do something for her.
Contemplating on what to make, Joochan sets on making chicken soup as it was the easiest, and it was what he always read about in stories, where one of the main characters make soup for his or her love interest while he or she is sick.
Joochan smiles to himself and sighs in determination before getting the ingredients to cook the soup.
"I have to make this edible," he reminds himself while preparing, laughing a little at his statement.
While he lets the soup to boil, he sneaks on Minhee to check up on her. Seeing how she's soundly asleep on the couch, a soft smile stretches along Joochan's face.
"You're such an angel while asleep," Joochan chuckles. "Not like when you're awake."
He walks to her and places the back of his hand onto Minhee's forehead, comparing her temperature to his. When he feels that it dummed down a bit, Joochan smiles. He is about to go to the kitchen whe he notices how uncomfortable her sleeping position is.
Should I put her on my bed?
Joochan carefully removes some strands of Minhee's hair on her face before deciding on carrying her up the stairs, careful not to make any abrupt movements to wake her up.
Joochan knew how she was a heavy sleeper, he always tried to wake her up on her bed whenever he visits their house before but can't seem to. He did everything to make her eyes open even just a bit but the only response he got when they were kids was a grunt. Joochan always stayed beside her and just waited for Minhee to wake up instead of forcing her to wake up since all his actions were for nothing.
Joochan snickers in his mind. Until now she's still a heavy sleeper.
He is actually glad that she's soundly asleep, or he'd be turning beet red if Minhee would notice the fast rhythms of his heart while carrying her body near him.
Joochan gently places Minhee's sleeping form on his bed and glances around his room, checking for anything weird for Minhee to see after waking up.
His room was quite decent for a guy's bedroom. No stray clothes and underwear on the floor, the bed was neatly done, the room wasn't dark. Not until did he see his walls.
"Oh no," he rushes to scratch the little drawings off the wall, the drawings he started to draw after getting the notebook from Minhee. It is scattered all over the place and Joochan struggles to get all of them, all crumpled on his hand.
"She shouldn't see this," he whispers to himself, getting sad over the crumpled and torn papers in between his fingers, never to be back to its original clean and not crumpled state.
Joochan didn't know why but after he got Minhee's notebook he never wanted to give it back. It brought back memories of their childhood, especially since she drew some of their most memorable moments when they were still kids.
After getting the notebook and after seeing all those drawings, he wanted to draw some of their memories himself too. After all, he had a talent in arts so he used it to good use. His blank white walls inside his room gradually became filled with memories he will never dare to forget.
Looking back and forth from his hand to the walls he slowly regretted ever tearing the posted drawings off the wall when he could've slowly removed it.
He hears the sound of boiling inside the kitchen and rushes to get down the stairs, leaving a sleeping Minhee behind, the walls of his room feeling emptier than before without the drawings.
He didn't notice the picture frame sitting on top of his bedside table still there, openly showing a memory of their cute little moment with his childhood bestfriend.
