Evan

I pulled Y/N away from Ethan's table, the way they talked to her was wrong, and I knew they had something to do with what happened this morning with Y/N.

Before returning to our table I had to speak with Y/N in private. I pulled her over behind the cafeteria doors.

"Y/N . . . tell me exactly what happened this morning, on the bus." There was worry in her eyes.

"No, it fine, everything fine, Evan." She spoke shyly. "No, Y/N, it's not fine. Tell me . . . please." I wasn't going to give up on her.

She looked away from me. "Ethan . . . and his friends, they caused me too . . ." She said quietly.

I nodded. "How?" She looked at me once again and turned away. "They . . . he was harassing me . . ." She looked up at me and she had tears in her eyes.

I opened my arms, waiting for her to accept it. She accepted the hug, she cried into my shirt, but I didn't mind. This is what friends do for each other.

"Thank you." She sniffled. The bell rang. "Hey, uh, Evan?" She was still trying to hold back tears.

"Ya?" I looked at her. "Could you, um, I don't want the others to see me like this, could you get me my lunch bag?" She asked me,

I nodded. She ran into the girls restrooms and I walked back to our table. "Where's Y/N?" I heard a familiar voice say.

I turned to see that it was Zoe, oh no, please self don't act weird. "Oh, I-uh, sh-she's-she's in uh, the girls restroom." I was starting to sweat a lot.

"Thanks." She smiled. "Wai-." I tried stopping myself but it was to late. "Huh?" "Nothing." I tried turning away.

"You sure?" She questioned me. Then I saw Y/N escape from the restroom, so my distraction was almost over.

"Well, the bell rang, I-I uh, uh I should get to m-my locker. Bye." I felt bad just leaving her there after talking to her but class started in like two minutes.

"Bye." I heard her say, I looked back and she waved.

Y/N

I was at my locker when I heard someone behind me. "Hey." I turned around and it was Connor. "Hey." I smiled.

"You look like a mess." He teased me. "Thanks, I guess." I smiled back.

"So . . . I take it you got the note?" He asked. "Yep." I replied. "You actually, you actually, want to go?" He sounded nervous.

"I mean I don't have anything else going on." I tried keeping my cool. There was a moment of silence, we just looked at each other.

The bell rang breaking the quiet. "I guess, I should get to class." I didn't want to stop talking but class is kinda important.

"Ya." He said quietly. "Ya, bye I guess." I didn't know what else to say. "So, after school today then . . ?" I heard him say as I turned around.

"Ya." I turned back to him and smiled. "Okay." He smiled back.

{Time Skip}

I looked at the clock, it was 3:14. One more minute til I'd be getting out. Zoe sat at a different table than I did in Calculus. She looked at me then at the clock and she mouthed "freedom." Right as the bell rang.

We grabbed our stuff and walked out. I walked over to my locker, and then I thought, how would I hangout with Connor without Zoe knowing?

"Hey." I turned around and it was Zoe. "Hi." I said. "You need a ride?" She asked me. "Uh, no, I have this thing today, but thanks for the offer." I told her.

"Okay. Just let me know if you change your mind, also are you coming to the football game this week?" Zoe was band, so this was also the season for marching band.

"Maybe." I told her. "Well, if so, maybe we could hangout then." She told me. I got a notification from my phone.

"Well, I talk to you later." Zoe told me and she walked away. I took my phone out and it was from Connor.

Connor ☺️: Hey, you ready?

Me: Yeah.

Connor ☺️: I'm waiting outside the schools back entrance.

Me: Okay, I'll be there in a minute.

I put my phone back into my bag and made my way downstairs. It didn't take me long til I found the back entrance.

As soon as I opened the door I saw Connor sitting underneath a tree waiting. I walked over to him.

"Hey." I smiled. "Hey." He looked back at me. "So, where do you want to go?" I asked him. "I don't know." He told me.

"We could go to A Lá Mode, but it would probably be a thirty minute walk." I told him.

"That's fine." He told me. "Unless, someone had a car. . ." I was confused on what he was saying.

"Um, we don't have a car . . ." I told him. "Well, I mean, Zoe does." That . . . does not sound like a good plan.

He saw the worry in my face and then tried to think of another solution. "Well, I mean, technically it's my car anyways." He reassured me.

Okay, it's not everyday you get asked out by your crush. "Fine." I told him. We walked over to the car and he pulled the keys out of his pocket.

"You're sure Zoe won't need her car?" I didn't want Zoe to be stuck at the school, and besides, I guess he was right.

"She'll be fine, and I mean our house is like a twenty minutes walk, but she had band today so as long as we're back within 3 hours we should be good." He reassured me.

"Okay." He unlocked the car and he got in the drivers seat and I got in the passenger seat. He started the car up. "Wanna play some music?" He handed me the aux cord.

"Sure." I pulled my phone out. "You don't mind if I play musicals, right?" I wanted to ask him first to see if that was okay with him. "No, go for it." He smiled at me.

I pulled up my "Next To Normal" playlist on YouTube, cause I don't feel like paying for Spotify premium. Once an ad was over I played "Superboy and the Invisible Girl"

Next thing I knew, Connor and I were on the road, on our way to A Lá Mode.

Hey guys it's Ryn here! So this chapter is kinda fluff, short, and it was rushed, but my reasoning for that is because I have an announcement to make . . . I'm going to meet Mike Faist! I'll be meeting him at the Ohio Artist Gathering on August 30th!
