My last glance turned out to be the most disturbing one of all, as dinosaurs ran for us in the marsh, a far cry carried across the island. Like a whiplash in my face, my hand snagged my hair intentionally as I was torn. Then, a thud.
I threw my hair to see Lara up to her waist, never registering her pain. Military jets exceeded from my peripheral. A titan-sized Spinosaurus had it's sense of smell in our direction, but once I checked it out, it bellowed in the direction of the valley and virtually disappeared. More appeared, but just as uneasily they stood, their bodies went invisible.
I turned once the splashing recced to a faint tide. "You didn't mention they could camouflage, did you?"
"I took my sweet time doing just that." she didn't take her eyes off the migration. " That, or our government wants to screw us with it's software. I personally take the second- A R G!"
"Here, I don't bite." I reckoned she needed help.
"Hands off & to yourself, Prestley. . . . . . " she mannered, making me roll my eyes.
"It's nothing, I don't bite, but I can wash my mouth after this, if you'd like. Hey. . . .what's that?"
Lara reconciled with a quirk of her eyebrow, again earning my eyes to roll around once I shed slugs from my arms. Not the most dignifying task to roll my eyes when I looked a mess myself. "The Rubix sphere, you had it by your pocket the whole time?"
"This?" it was smudge clean, even in her hand. "I was going to tell you all about this antique of mine. . .but I figured the boys would hear too much. Someone traded this in for part of the Croft Enterprise net worth. All evidence shows my poor girls have to be connected to this in some way or form. It'll guide us, no thanks to it's silver."
At first, my conspicuous look was all but blank. "So what does Trinity have to do with this?"
"Trinity's got some competition with your ex-line of work. I'll tell you all about it, after we hitch a ride--I say we've done enough walking around the island. And seen as PREY!" she waved her gun before launching a bullet. I reacted from the trigger, pitying a unworldly creation on the ground
I approached with a slight thought to it, but soon the animal's anatomy wasn't right with me.
"It's. . . . . . Dirmorphodon?" I whispered in my most vague approach.
"Hybrid?" asked Lara, obstructed by her shoulder.
"Yes?
No?
Hell, I never had a good study method for these! They look too rabid. . . "
"Heh." Lara lacked humor when she sauntered. "Always the possibility. Good thing I have aim. Now. . . . . .you gonna pop my shoulder for me?"
