"Oh boy," went Fredrick surveying the inside of the vent, "we're in quite a jiffy, aren't we?"

His statement was followed by another massive pounding against the bunker door; determined alone couldn't describe this dinosaur. Hangry was what he was,  I interpreted. A sad note on that, the poor velociraptor would be reckless to constantly slam his body against the door. I couldn't stop from cringing when the raptor threw another bombardment.

"But no matter, where there's a will there's a way," he mentioned with optimism.

I put my hands over my face. "Thanks....really needed that."

"Let's go on this way, shall we?"

"Like we have choice." said a sarcastic and dulled me.

Once they were on the move, I was immediately new to the cramped environment the vent gave. With that came the dust. This vent must have been around for decades, there was so much dust to confront. Let's just say there was a whole lot of sneezing before my nose got adjusted.

"Oh, flashlight. Would you look at that?" Fredrick picked it up.

"About time." I mumbled under my and ducked to keep on going.

There was a time of silence between me and Fred. I was in complete despair by all the webs, dust, and grime built up around me. What worse conditions could I be put in? Then again, with an adventure like this, who expect vents to come along?

"RJ was right..." I broke the silence.

It took a moment for my guide to respond. "RJ?"

                              "My brother, he's decent."

Fredrick looked over his shoulder and bobbed his head. "I see. Just now your telling me this?"

"Well....he was right about the part that this trip would be wreck. I should've been more conscious of what I was doing back there."

"Hey," he continue to venture through, "I was right there wi-"

Something big hit the outside of the vent before he could finish. It sounded like our visitor was back. Somehow, this one was more intelligent than the two of us thought previously. Being feisty never felt so real!  Shrieking, the velociraptor followed us as we hurried down air-conditioned vents.

"Come on, you. Up we go!" Fredrick said, squatting down and making me a practical stepping stone with his hands.

                               "Up there?" went Robin, panicky.

"You bet so! Now come on!"

There a rush of exhilaration through Robin when she escorted herself up the vent. The air was so hot already she just wanted to be out of there. At last, there a metal sheet and Robin tore the thing immediately.

"In here!" I shouted for Fredrick. Feeling both relief and anxiety, I gasped for some natural air, as we were approaching the wrecked observatory ahead.

There was a sigh inside the vent. I remembered that it wasn't easy for Fredrick either. By now, I made a scary assumption that the velociraptor chasing us had barged through the door and time was the essence. At that time, I was so intimidated by the other end of the vent that there was an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach from all this.

"I'm a,coming, just wait for me, alright? I'll get this rope hitched up and ready."
