Chapter 8: Forever Loyal

I slipped on my shoes on came down stairs. I wasn’t sure how my mom would take me asking can I got to a party. Mostly because I’ve never been any before.  Honestly I never cared if I went or not. But I told myself that I would start going more for Ben. I know it had be hard for him having two friends that weren’t human and not doing stuff he use to. My dad once told that he still wanted me to be normal teenage and experience all the things teenagers are suppose to. I guess going to parties was.

“Mom?” I called her as if I couldn’t hear where she was. I saw taking her tie off at the door.  A big smiled came across her face.

 

“And just where are you all dressed up for?” She asked me. I watched as she took the two guns off her waste.

 

“That’s what I was going to tell you.” I told her. She walked to the kitchen and walked to the fridge. “There is a party tonight and that’s where I’m going.”  I bit my lip.

 

“Yeah Jasper told me Jazz asked him about that. Didn’t think you wanted to go something like that. You're always up in your room.” She said to me. Mom took a sip of her beer.

 

“It’s okay if I go right?” I asked her.

 

“Sure, you can go. Just be back before ten-thirty. Don’t make me come looking for you.” She said sounding more like a mother. “You got your phone?”

 

“Yeah.” I said nodding my head.  She smiled at me.  “Oh something came today, think it’s from dad.” I pointed to the long box on the coffee table.  She looked at it.

 

“No, I ordered that for you.” She said sitting on the sofa. “Open it.” What could she have ordered for me. I went to the box up. I dug around the packing popcorn. I pulled out something wrapped in bubble wrap. I pulled it off.

 

“A sword?” I asked her.

“Yeah, me and you gonna been doing some training of our own.” She told me “There are four. ways vampire’s fight.”

 

“I know what of them is hand to hand.” I said.

 

“Yes that’s one. Your Uncle is going to be teaching you hand to hand.” I’m gonna get killed trying to learn. “The other is with guns like what I use for work. The bullets are filled with vampire venom. Swords are also used, I’m not really too skilled in that area. I can teach you as best as I can in that area. The last is using powers.” Mom really got my attention with that last one.

 

“Who is gonna teach me how to use my powers?” I asked.

 

“We don’t know who will. So far we only know you have one and we don’t even know how well it works or how to teach how to use it.”  I rolled my eyes. So far they only knew I could heal someone. They knew this because I use to as child, sadly I don’t remember. Or how to do it.  Just then I heard the van pull up.  

 

“Well finish talking about this in the morning, go ahead and go.” I kissed her cheek and went out the door. Ben’s sister was driving.  I got in the van and shut the door.
