(Y/N) POV

I sat down patiently on the couch with a book, in my dorm room waiting for my dorm mate Marquis de Lafayette to come back from his supposed "Date" with a girl named Adrienne. I didn't like the sound of her name. Or her in general. I've seen her around campus randomly making out with guys in the halls or even just in the classes. But who am I to complain. It's not like I have some huge crush on him or anything... Nope. Definitely not... ugh. I hear the doorknob jingle open and in comes Lafayette with a large grin. I sigh before going back to my book.

"So, how was your date?" I ask through gritted teeth. Wow, jealousy is not an easy thing to hide.
He smiles broadly responding. "It was great! Adrienne and I are going on another date Saturday," he confirms, grabbing a granola bar and stuffing in his mouth.

I put my book down before staring at him. "You shouldn't be going out with her, you know," I say nonchalantly. He freezes and stares at me.

"Excusé moi?" He exclaims in French. I sigh before rolling my eyes.

"You do know she literally makes out with a different guy everyday," I point out as he scoffs.

"You wouldn't know that," he says before I shake my head.

"Actually, yes I would. I see her do it everyday on campus. I'm surprised you haven't," I tell him with a shrug. I see him fuming as I say this but simply ignore it.

"Oh come on (Y/N)! Why are you always like this after my dates! Tu toujours est comme ça!" He thunders loudly. I sigh heavily, mentally face palming. Because I'm jealous...

"What are you talking about!? I am always supportive of you and your multiple dates! Just because I don't want you to date one girl doesn't mean I don't want you to have a love life!" I yell back in response. At least not without me.

"Why can't you just let me be with Adrienne!? What did she even do to you?!" He retorts as I snarl. Steal the only man I ever loved.

"Nothing I just want to be a good friend and warn you! Is there anything wrong with that?!" I snap. He nodded his head as though it were obvious.

"Well of course there is because a good friend wouldn't tell me not to go out with the girl I like!" He bellows as I stand up and walk over to him, slamming my fist on the kitchen counter.

"WELL MAYBE I'M NOT JUST A GOOD FRIEND! MAYBE I WANT TO BE SOMETHING ELSE!" I shout in anger clapping my hand over my mouth after the words had come out.

"S**t. No that's not what I was supposed to say," I mumble silently to myself. I look up to see Lafayette in a frozen position, no sign of emotion on his face. It was a blank slate.

"Listen Laf. I don't know what the hell I was saying. I'm sorry alright. You can go and date whoever you'd like and I won't bother you," I apologize about to walk back to my room.

Just as I was about to leave I hear Lafayette say something. "Non, you're not,"

I turn my head back to look and he's rubbing his face.

"Excuse me?" I ask in confusion. He shakes his head slowly and I can hear fair chuckles.

"Tu ne pas désolé. Comment est-ce que j'ai ne pas vu?" He mutters to himself in French.

"What? What is it? I am sorry ok. You can go back with Adrienne for all that matters. I won't bother you," I spoke once again.

"No. You're not sorry. You're jealous," he says lifting his hands away from his face. He had a sly smirk.

"W-What?! I'm not jealous alright! Can you just stop," I stutter nervously.

"That's the reason you complained about Adrienne. Because you're jealous," he states as I breath heavily.

"No. Its because I'm your friend. And because I care enough to tell you that's she's a bad girl," I growl as he sighs angrily. Why am I still lying? What's the point anymore?

"Stop with all of this bullsh*t (Y/N)! Cut the damn act! I already found out!" He insisted as I roll my eyes and shake my head.

"It's not just some dull bullsh*t Lafayette! I'm not jealous!" I holler angrily. I shoot a glare at him before he speaks.

"Then tell me (Y/N)?! Why the hell won't you let me be with Adrienne?!" He shouts as I bang my fist on the table.

"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU! OK?! I F**KING LOVE YOU!" I yell loudly.

"I'm not just jealous. I'm pissed. I'm angry. I'm just f**king tired of waiting," I reply in a calmer voice. I look down ashamed of myself. That is before I felt warm arms embrace me.

"Well then what took you so long to tell me?" Lafayette asks in a soft voice. I gulp slowly.

"I'm not really a person of big emotions of feelings," I admit as he laughs

"Really? Because screaming to a person telling them you f**king love them seems like a lot of emotions to me," he says as I smile. A thought comes to mind as I break up the hug.

"If you liked me back, then why would you go on other dates?" I question as he sighs.

"The moment I laid eyes on you, you never showed any sign of care or interest towards me. So I eventually gave up trying to flirt with you, since all you did was call me annoying. You don't remember that happening?" He asks as I shake my head.

"Not really but to be honest, I didn't start to like you until you we went on that "double date" with Eliza and Alex," I say recalling what had happened.

"That was a strange day wasn't it. But to be fair, I didn't mind the waiter calling us an annoying couple. It felt good," Lafayette admits as we both laugh.

"So what does this mean now?" I ask slowly. Lafayette looks down at my (E/C) eyes,

"It means I can do this,"

And then...he kissed me.
