Queenie entered Newt's room without knocking, forgetting her manners in her excitement. Newt was just stepping out of his case, and he looked surprised to see her. "Hello," he said, slightly confused as to why she was here.

"I just wanted to ask you something," Queenie explained.

Newt looked at her curiously as he went over to sit on his bed. "What's that?"

"What do you think of my sister?" Queenie asked blatantly.

For a moment, Newt looked stunned, and then a look of utter panic flitted across his face, but it was gone so quickly Queenie didn't even have the chance to read his thoughts. "What do I think of...Tina?", he asked with great uncertainty.

Queenie had to restrain herself from rolling her eyes. What other sister did she have? "Yes, Tina," she confirmed.

Newt swallowed, and he ducked his head down. It was a bad habit, Queenie noted. It made him look sketchy.

"Er...," he said, stalling. "Well, I think that Tina is an excellent Auror, and she's also very understanding..."

The witch nearly slapped her forehead. "Newt, that's not what I meant. What do you think about Tina outside of her personality?"

Newt looked positively horrified. His eyes searched the room, as if he wanted nothing more than to race out of there. But Queenie had planted herself firmly in the doorway, blocking off his escape route. Sure, there was always the case, or a window, but she knew that Newt would be too polite to just get up from a conversation and leave.

"What do you think of her romantically?" she pressed, when she had not received an answer.

If Newt had looked horrified before, it was nothing compared to his expression now. He looked absolutely terrified. And not to mention, a blush was starting to make his face glow bright pink. Queenie thought that Tina would like his blush. She had no idea where that idea came from, but it was a sister thing. She couldn't help but think that Tina and Newt would make a perfect couple. Tina blushed red, Newt blushed pink. A perfect match, if she did say so herself.

"Romantically?" Newt croaked. "I don't know what you mean."

A million thoughts flew through his head, coming so fast that Queenie wasn't able to pick the apart. She looked at Newt with raised eyebrows, smiling a bit. "Oh, I think you do."

Newt flushed an even brighter pink. He had to admit that he knew perfectly well what Queenie was talking about. And I know the answer, too.

"Ah-ha!" Queenie pointed triumphantly at him. "So, do you love her?"

The Englishman cleared his throat multiple times before speaking. "I find Tina Goldstein likeable," he decided to say.

Queenie was not at all satisfied. "Aw, Newt, come on, you can tell me," she encouraged.

Newt eyed her before settling on a conclusion. He knew she was never going to give up. She was just like her sister that way, stubborn to the very last part of her. Tina's determination was part of what made her so attractive to him.

"Aw, that's sweet, Newt. She thinks the same of you too."

All Newt wanted to do right now wash smash his head against the wall until his brain was no longer capable of producing comprehend able thoughts, but he also knew that he would have to give Queenie an answer, or else she would never leave. He looked up at her, weighing his possibilities. "All right," he finally sighed.

Queenie looked delighted. "But...", he added, "Now, what I say stays strictly between you and me, alright?" He sounded like a parent teaching his child the moral of a story.

"Okay," Queenie agreed reluctantly. After all, something was better than nothing, even if she couldn't tell Tina.

"That means you can't tell Tina," Newt warned, blushing all the more when he mentioned her name.

Queenie nodded, anxious for him to go on.

He braced himself for the inevitable, exhaling a long, slow breath that blew his hair momentarily out of his face. Queenie got the feeling that Tina would find that adorable, too. "Er–well..." he stuttered. "The thing is...I–erm–I like your sister a lot," he mumbled in a rush.

"You just Iike her?" Queenie exclaimed incredulously. She quickly probed his mind, then smirked with satisfaction. "Oh, so you do love her!"

Newt's eyes widened and his ears burned with embarrassment. "It's–I–well, maybe just–"

"Aw, it's okay, I get it!" Queenie assured him happily. She turned around, preparing to exit the room.

"Does Tina feel the same way?" he blurted out, surprising them both.

Queenie glanced back at him, flashing him a smile. "Well, if I can't tell Tina about your  feelings, then I certainly can't tell you about hers, can I?" And with that she left the room, leaving a very confused, regretful, and dissapointed  Newt behind her.

As she entered the hallway, Tina came out of her bedroom at the same time. The brunette looked at her sister expectantly, but Queenie lowered her gaze, her earlier joy vanishing in a second. A promise was a promise, and she just couldn't tell Tina the news. But she knew if she didn't say anything, Tina would automatically think that Newt did not love her. A fierce battle was raging in her mind, the importance of a promise versus her love for her sister. At last, she decided. She tried to put all the unsaid things into the look she gave Tina, and then she turned around and headed towards her own bedroom, unable to shake off the feelings of loss and heartbreak that were emanating strongly off of her beloved sister.

Haha, you didn't think I was going to make this easy for them, did you? MWAHAHAHAHA. Well, thanks for reading, and stay tuned until the next chapter, which will be coming out tomorrow, as always :)
