A/N So I saw some back to school commercials and I screamed because I don't want to go back to school yet. Don't be a silent reader comment your thoughts.

Chapter 3 ~My 'Mother'

When I saw you first, it took every ounce of me not to kiss you. When I first heard you laugh, it took every ounce of me to not marry you. And when I met your soul, it took every ounce of me. ~Atticus

Felix's POV

"Hey mom" I greeted her with a smirk as I walked into the house after school on Friday.

She turned and looked at me with a glowering expression "How many times have I told you not to call me that" she asked with a growl.

I shrugged as I took off my shoes and headed for the stairs "Is dad home" I asked her.

"No" she answered shortly.

I sighed and marched up the stairs to my room. You see the lady downstairs isn't really my mother in fact she's just my fathers mate. Ironic isn't it my father some hot shot hunter is mated to a wolf.

Now the story of how I was conceived is quite sad and pathetic if you ask me.

Nineteen years ago- before I was born- my father was a young hunter who was very well known. He had -and still has- the title of the best hunter to exist but along with that title he was known to....well sleep around. One night while staying in town he met this stripper named 'Diamond' she was eighteen -he was twenty-three- and well they had sex. Unknown to her though is that he had someone at home who was waiting for him to get back. This woman was a well respected woman but because she chose my father over her pack she was shunned out and is now a rogue. She believed in my father to be loyal to her and stop sleeping around because he had her now.

Oh how naive she was.

She knew he slept with someone that night, but she never expected that nine months later a baby boy would be left on their doorstep. The woman was heart broken.....

She of course knew it was a matter of time before something like that would happen since she wasn't fertile and could never conceive a child. But yet she was left in charge of raising another woman's baby while her husband went to work. She grew to resent that child, but although she never said it out loud she never blamed the kid for being there or for what happened that night he was conceived.

I always thought she hated me but she made it clear she didn't on the day she nearly died to save me twelve years ago.

*Flashback*

"Mommy when is daddy coming home" my six year old self asked the woman standing in front of us. "Can I go and see my fwiends Harvey, J.J, Breadon, and Tywell" I asked mispronouncing Harley, Brendan, and Tyrell's  name -it was always a struggle for me-.

It was currently summer before I entered first grade and I couldn't wait to be at school again with all my friends.

Her face scrunched up before she told me "I'm not your mother and I don't know when he'll be home" she didn't say it rudely but she didn't say it in a kind tone either. "As for your friends we have a playdate at the park with them tomorrow so just wait a little bit, okay" she said before turning away from her cutting board to give me a small smile.

I looked up at her with confused eyes "If you are not my mommy who is" I asked her.

"Felix please stop asking me questions I have to make lunch" she answered as she went back to cutting.
