Chapter 28 ~Cora

Lo que no dejas ir, lo cargas. Lo que cargas, te pesa. Y lo que te pesa, te hunde. Hoy practica el arte de soltar, perdonar y dejar ir. ~ Unknown

( What you don't let go, you carry. What you carry, weighs on you. And what weighs on you, sinks you. Today practice the art of letting go and forgiving. ~Unknown)

Grant's POV

Felix shifted his weight from his left foot to his right as we stood in front of her apartment.

I glanced around the complex and took in the nice landscaping. I noted that the complex was pretty big and there was even a pool plus a gym. There were a few people passing here and there, but none of us paid us any mind, which was good considering the fact that we've been standing awkwardly in front of a random apartment for a few minutes now.

"Are you okay" I whispered after five minutes of standing in silence.

"I-I don't know" he answered. "I should just knock" he added.

I watched him for another minute and he remained unmoving. He seemed to have no actual intention of knocking on the door.

I looked around again and noticed an older pair looking at the two of us suspiciously which made me feel uncomfortable.

I finally decided to speak up to Felix not wanting to cause a scene which would involve security. Dear God imagine if his mother was to open the door upon hearing the commotion outside her house only to find us and security.

I could just imagine security telling her that two delinquents -us- were scoping around her house, only for one of them to end up being her abandon son. How embarrassing!

"It's okay Felix...we can come bac-"

He suddenly knocked and took in an audible breath as we waited for the door to open.

Not even a minute later the door opens revealing a lady about and inch taller than I am with a small smile adorning her features.

She stood about 5'6 with curled dark brown hair that went down to her shoulders. She was fair skinned with a slim hourglass figure.

But the thing that caught my eye was that fact that her eyes were exact in shape and color to Felix's....there was no denying biological relations.

"Hello my name is-"

"F-Felix" she gasped as the color left her face and her eyes widened in shock.

"Y-You know my name!?" Felix asked equally surprised.

She looked like she was choking up and only nodded.

"Mommy, I want some juice" a small voice came from behind her.

She jumped and whipped around "Be right there sweetie...g-give mommy a moment..." she appeared awkward as she turned back around to us. "Um....why don't you two c-come in" she offered.

Felix had an unreadable expression on his face as we entered.

The apartment was a decent size. From the information advertised on the banner outside the complex they were 3 bedroom.

The living room was opened connected to kitchen. The kitchen had the essential stove, sink, fridge, counters, etc. The counters were a light granite counter top and white in color. There were counter stools and a everything else was silver in color (like the fridge, stove, sink).
