Strange Things in Hawkins Chapter 5

All this had gone by so fast. Becoming friends with Dustin and the gang. Figuring out what was happening in our small town. Dustin had sat me down after all the craziness and told me about what had happened the previous year.

He told me about how Will actually got lost in the upside down not the woods. And how they found eleven who I had since been introduced to. He told me about the lab and the experiments with eleven and the upside down. And how El saved them from the demagorgen but then dissolved into thin air.

I wasn't sure how to process it all. Not to mention seeing Will get possessed by the mind flayer that was terrifying. Running around in the woods with Steve the boys and Max trying to figure it all out. Normally I wouldn't believe anything he had told me but one I had personally experienced it and two I had a crush on him soo I kinda wanted to believe him more.

"Does that make sense?" Dustin asked after he had explained everything.

"I don't really think it can make sense in any way,even for us since we had to deal with it but ya it makes as much sense as it can." Dustin let out a small laugh.

"Hey-" he began but he stoped and looked down at the floor. "Never mind" he said shaking his head. What was he going to say? Why didn't he say it? 

"Dustin!" A voice came over the walkie. Dustin picked it up.

"Hello?" He said giving me a look.

"Hey Dustin the party is heading to the woods wanna come" it was Mike.

"Why are you guys going to the woods?" He asked.

"Welllll I got Steve's bat and me and Lukas agreed that we should go hit some stuff with it" Mike replied. Dustin gave me a oh my gosh look before returning to the walkie.

"Mike how did you gets Steve's bat!?" He asked.

"He left it at Wills house that night" Mike was referring to the night we all split up so Eleven could close the gate.

"I don't know Mike,I don't want to get on Steve's bad side,I'm on his good side right now id rather not have that change" Dustin explained.

"Ohhh Dustin doesn't want to disobey his big brother" Mike teased.

"He's not my brother Mike,just a friend" I could tell saying that kinda hurt Dustin. He did look at Steve like a big brother. Considering he didn't have any siblings or a dad. Steve was kinda his mentor.

"Ya whatever,if you change your mind we'll be in the woods behind my house. Over and out!"

Dustin put down the walkie and looked at me with sad eyes.

"Hey" I said putting my hand on his shoulder. "Don't listen to him ok,I know how much Steve actually means to you" I said with a small smile.

"What do you mean?" Dustin asked.

"Dude it's pretty clear that your bros. He took you to the snowball,he hangs out with you at least once a week." Dustin gave a small smile.

"Ya I guess so.." he said.

"It's ok. I won't tell anyone that you two are super close buddy buddy."

"Thanks Emily"

"No problem!...I don't have any siblings either so I like Steve to" I said telling the truth.

"Like remember last week when me and you went over to Steve's house to play video games. And I totally crushed both of you" Dustin laughed.

"Ya,you killed me 4 times and Steve 6"

I crossed my arms and straightened  my back so I looked bigger. Dustin just hit me. Making me and him laugh.

"Maybe we could go and meet the rest of the party" I said.

"Just so we can gets Steve's bat and give it back to him" I suggested.

Dustin thought for a second before responding. "Ya that's a good idea" he said standing up. I stood up to and hit him playfully in the shoulder he gave a small giggle.

We decided to walk to Mikes sense we weren't in a hurry to get there. We walked outside of Dustin's house and stared walking. Dustin taking my hand in his.

Yay I hope you guys liked that chapter. I'm excited to take the story my own way. And not just follow the plot of the show.

I also got really happy when I wrote the part of Dustin taking her hand. I don't want to rush there relationship so I'm taking me time with it.
