Moon was there, beautiful as always, wearing a pink ruffled top and pink shorts with pink and white shoes and carrying a pink and white messenger bag. Pink was her favorite color, is one of the things I learned on the ferry trip that day.
My jaw dropped but I quickly returned it to it's normal position before she could notice. She made pink look good, like really good. It wasn't like those queen bee type of girls you see in movies, those who carry a dog dressed also in pink in their purse. No, she made it look completely awesome.
"Do you like it?" I heard Moon ask, snapping me out of my trance. "Y-yeah..." I took the box of sweet hearts that I was hiding behind my back and offered them to her.
"I...I bought this...I thought it would be a good idea to formalize our friendship...so...may I ask...if you, if you want to be my friend".
My heart was racing as fast as a Deoxys traveling at light speed. If I was this nervous just by asking her if she wanted to be my friend, imagine how much I will be when I add girl to the word.
"Oh my gosh Gladion, you are so sweet! Of course I want to be your friend, I thought we already were". She smiled, that smile that made me melt. "Hehe, you are right...I...I just haven't had the chance to ask you myself" I smiled back, but awkwardly as always.
"So where are we heading?" I asked after I finally put my act together.
At this point I wasn't really thinking about my own island challenge, all I could think of was Moon. "Well, I was going to start my trials in Akala, I already finished Melemele so that's my next destination. But what about you? Lillie told me you were going to continue yours" she asked.
"That's true but...", "No buts!" she said cheerfully before I could say anything. "Tell me, what trials are you missing?".
"Well...I already completed the Kahuna Olivia's trial, that's how I got my Rockium-Z" I answered, "I also defeated the Kahuna of this island and that's how I got my Z-Ring".
"You are so cool!" she said happily, "Me? nah, I'm just doing my best every day hehehe" I replied while blushing. She giggled and then she asked: "H...hey...Gladion?...um, if it's not much to ask could you help me completing Akala's trial? Since you already completed it, you could give me some advice".
I could see that she was as nervous as me when I asked her something, could it be that she shared my feelings for her? No, that couldn't be, I might be in love with her but I'm not worthy of her. I was pretty sure I wouldn't have any chance, she was just so wonderful and totally out of my league.
So I just focused to be the best friend she could ever have, I mean, besides my sister. "Of course I'll help you!" I answered happily, her face lighted up.
"All right! then how about another ferry trip?" she said with a gleam on her eyes, "Let's go" I nodded while giggling.
