I ran to help Moon and Hau to help Sun, we stood side by side.
"Now we can stand a chance!" Hau exclaimed determined.
In closer inspection, the Mimikyu was creating some kind of ghostly illusion.
"Boys, I think that's a shiny Mimikyu" Moon said.
"Hey! you are right!" Sun exclaimed, "Alright then, Moon! prepare your Gardevoir, let's tag against it!" he planned. "Very good! Grace, help Dollar!" Moon commanded.
Both Pokémon began an assault of attacks, but the Mimikyu didn't even flinched. The big ghost kept kicking Grace and Dollar back.
"It's not working, let's try the four of us!" Hau suggested.
I sent Umbreon out while Hau sent his Alolan Raichu. Our efforts proved to be useless as well. "Welp, guys, now what?" Sun asked.
Everyone was thinking.
One thing that catched my attention was that Mimikyu wasn't attacking, the only ones who did where Phantump and Gengar.
Suddenly, Moon said: "Well, Acerola said this was a test right?"
Everyone nodded back as she continued to explain, "And what you do in a test? you study, and that makes you think, you don't just attack it".
"So, you are saying, battling isn't the answer? aww..." Sun frowned.
"I think I know what to do" she said, she returned her Gardevoir back and approached the Disguise Pokémon. I was ready to jump in case I had to protect my girlfriend.
To everyone's shock, Moon suddenly hugged Mimikyu, and began to reassure it.
Sun was the second to join the hug. "Aww! Group hug!" Hau exclaimed.
"I'm sorry we startled you and your friends", Moon apologized.
Mimikyu smiled and it's illusion began to lift, it also became small.
"Congratulations! You passed!" Acerola said happily, while the Mimikyu rested on her shoulder.
"Wait, is that Mimikyu yours?" I asked.
"Yeah, her name is Mimi, I told her to help me set the test" Acerola answered.
"Aww, that's so sweet" Moon asked, greeting Mimi formally.
"Good thing it was a pokémon right Sun? If it was a real ghost, you would be shaking all the way back to Kanto" Hau teased.
"Oh, well, you see...Mimi here isn't exactly a Pokémon she's areal ghost!" Acerola exclaimed happily.
"G-G-GHOST!?" Hau screamed, fainting in a comedic way.
We laughed and helped him out.
