Give without expecting anything in return, because you will only be hurt in the end!
People will change, but not in the way you want; rather, in their own way.
Anisa:
"Am not avoiding you, "I said in a low voice I took a deep breath and calmed down myself."I know he will lose it and ask so many questions that were unanswered," he said, his voice rising a little. "You are not even looking at me what changed between us and these twelve years it was very long you never even replied to my any text in the beginning."
Grasping my fingernails, I bit my lip and looked down. I was afraid to look up because I knew he would know everything and that I would break down if I did. Besides, he would be better off without me.
"How is Mayra doing?"I asked if they were happy together. I had so many opportunities to tell him they were engaged three years ago when I received news from my mother and father, but I never bothered contacting or texting him. It hurt because he never gave me the chance to explain and tell him the whole truth.
"I do not know," he said, sitting next to me again, but I moved a little away to keep my distance. I never expected to be in the same room with him.
Where was Mum when I really needed her? Before I lost it, I kept looking at the door, hoping someone would come in and put an end to this.
He took a deep breath and said, "Even if you keep looking towards the door no one will come I have asked permission from your and my parents that we will have dinner here in the room while they in the next room." He was making it hard for me to avoid him.
My headache was back! I was dizzy and wanted him to leave. I was weak and needed rest, and he did not need to know anything.
He went to bring dinner for us. I skipped dinner since I did not feel like eating.
"It seems that you have been missing dinner," he inquired as he filled a glass with water.
A brief period of silence passed before someone told him, "I have been skipping dinner and all that."
"I discovered that Mayra was unfaithful."
I am still confused about why he was here, as he claimed to have been confused when he left her last year, but she returned and apologized. It is better if he confronts her and forgives her."Go to her and forgive her; everyone makes mistakes."I whispered through it; it hurt to say these words because my heart ached again.
I looked up again; he was more than handsome now, and girls must have fallen for him more. He had sharp features and brown hair, with grey dark eyes staring back at me; he was fair and tall.
Astagfirullah!!I cast a downward glance.
My ex-best friend was back!!
"I can forgive her once, but not twice. This is not about Mayra, but about you and our friendship. What happened, Anisa?"He questioned me and demanded an explanation.
I can not express to you how much it hurt to see you with her while she was cheating. I tried telling you, but you were unwilling to hear anything I had to say about her because you were so infatuated with her. I had to keep quiet for your sake and your happiness until I could take it no more, and now that you know that I knew but withheld it from you, you will detest me even more.
There is a lot you do not know.
After dinner, I was relieved that I no longer felt dizzy; he was still present, and my doctor would come for a checkup. I am not sure, but lately I have been experiencing headaches, weakness, and a lack of sleep. My head hurt a lot most of the time until I slept.
"Anisa, are you OK?"He asked, touching me, and I jerked my hands away. When I looked at him, he had a pained expression on his face and stared at me.
"What are you hiding?"He asked again, and I remained silent. I had previously kept silent for his sake and his love for Mayra, but now I can not tell him that he must return to Mayra, forgive, and be with her.
"Please forgive her," I said quietly, hoping he understood.
"Damn it, I am talking about regaining our lost friendship, and you are talking about someone who cheated on me with my best friend," he said, banging his hand on the table, and I flinched.
He approached me and asked, "Why are you pushing me away?" I backed away.
"This is not right," I shook my head and whispered, but he only fake laughed.
"Everything had not been right since Mayra arrived, but now it is about us, and I will make things right whether you like it or not," he said, his dark grey eyes staring intently back at me.
I lowered my gaze. What did he mean by that?
"What do you mean by that?"When I asked, he continued to shake his head and grab trays and head for the door.
The man turned to me and glared as he reached for the door handle, saying, "Am back and to fix back our friendship and I let you go last time the biggest mistake of my life so never ever push me again."
I eventually gave him the hints, saying, "Once you find out everything about me, you will hate me more and leave me."
Simply taking trays, he walked away without turning around!
