Instead of getting upset over little things in life, always say thanks to Allah for His blessings.Mrs Anisa:
We were waiting at the door. I was about to knock, but first I thanked my dear Husband several times until he stopped me and told me it was his duty, especially to see a smile on his wife's face every day.I had no idea that everyone was part of the plan until we knocked and watched to see how they responded.
"Assalamualaikum, ahem, ahem, love birds have finally arrived."I could not believe these were my mother's words.I suspect she was in a good mood.
"Waleikumsalam," we both replied, just as dad came into view and hugged Ayman. Were his parents also present?now I was confused. What was taking place?
I glanced around, but nobody offered even the slightest clue as to what was going on.I assumed that his only concern was his work, but he went above and beyond to make me happy.I joined our parents and gave my mother-in-law a hug while he was occupied with conversation.
"What is the occasion?"I inquired curiously; I am not the type to do so in public, but my husband had suddenly become secretive.
"Well, there is no occasion, but tomorrow and the day after, we will be going on a road trip," Ayman informed us. Everyone grinned, and my eyes widened. After everything we had been through, I really wanted to take everyone on a road trip; our parents needed a break just as much as we did.Despite all of the work at the office, the man standing next to me had a lot of thought for everyone that matters.
I simply went to stand next to Ayman during the weekend while everyone else was preoccupied with decisions about what to bring and how to conduct business.
"Thank you so much," I expressed sincerely after he responded.
"You are welcome, and this is only the first surprise; there will be many more," he said with a smile, leaving me confused once more.
"I have not even given you anything, and you have been doing so much since day one?"I asked, feeling a little low because we both should have done something for each other.
With tears in his eyes, he said, "You have given me everything by just coming into my life and by being my wife," which made me cry too.
I have always thanked Allah for bringing Ayman into my life as my husband; when did I become so fortunate?"Getting romantic now?"He crossed his arms over his chest and looked at me when I made a playful joke about him.
He halted me as I tried to walk away, saying, "Everyone will see."
"Is someone being shy, or should I let them see that you are my wife?"Eventually, he released my hand as my mother cleared her throat, and I turned my head away.
"Let us pack and prepare some meals for the weekend while you, Mr Romantic Ayman, go help the gents," mum told him, and they both laughed.
"Yeah, sure," he said before disappearing.
I looked down as Ayman's mother teased me, "Someone is blushing."What was wrong with everyone's playful attitude?
Thank God we have women in our home who set a good example for the younger generation. It is not common to find women who are close to one another and who share a strong sense of love and unity.
"I am excited for tomorrow," I wrote to Ayman on WhatsApp, and he responded right away.
"Same here, love."
Since when has he been calling me by nicknames?
"So, what did you cook for dinner?" was his next message.
"Come and find out," I texted him while serving at the table, as I rarely use my cell phone in the kitchen, and no one does because it is dangerous.
"Yeah, I came, and the ladies of the house chased me away again," he said with a smile.
"Then wait for dinner."I texted him, turned off the internet, and dimmed the phone's light.
"So, someone is looking forward to the weekend, right?"A voice startled me, causing me to jump and touch my heart. I quickly turned around to see who had scared me.
