28. Donuts

"You got a little something."

After my parents wedding I went back to Toronto. I was finally back to complete normal with videos and my state of mind was much better. It almost felt like the last few months never even happened. Like I picked up where I left off and I was just really happy.

I sat on my bed with my laptop on my lap. I woke up needing to upload the video I edited last night. I stayed up late to edit today's video so I woke up to upload right away. When I seen it was uploading onto YouTube I yawned. I looked at the time and seen it was barely 8 in the morning.

I got up and walked to my bathroom and used it, as I walked to my bed I heard a knock on my front door. I looked to see that my video was halfway uploaded. I then turned around and walked out of my room and towards the front door. I opened the door to find Shawn standing there with a box of donuts.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as I opened the door wider for him to walk through.

He walked in but stopped in front of me to bend down and give me a peck on my lips. After that he walked over towards the counter and set the box down. I shut the front door and walked over to him.

"Thought I'd bring you breakfast." Shawn told me with a smile.

I laughed, "Donuts?"

"We actually have to have a short breakfast because we are getting ready." He informed me.

I raised my eyebrow in confusion, "Oh are we?" I asked as I slowly backed into my room.

Once in my room I grabbed my laptop and seen it was almost uploaded. I grabbed my phone and when the video was up I copied the link and posted telling everyone it was up. Shawn walked into my room with the box of donuts and laid on my bed. I set my laptop off to the side before opening the box.

I picked a raspberry filled donut that had white powder around it. Shawn closed the box and set it off to the side. He then lazily traced his finger on my leg as I sat crisscrossed on my bed.

"So where are we going?" I asked before I bit into the donut.

"John's concert, it's today and well we said we'd be there. And I want to do something fun before I leave." He told me not looking at me.

I heard the tone change when he said the last sentence. He was going back on the rest of his tour. We only really had this week back together and now he's off again. I knew why he was sad, he had a lot to fear especially with what happened last time.

I set down the donut on the box before wiping my hand and grabbing his chin. I made him look at me and when he did I knew I was right. I could see the sadness and fear in his eyes.

"Hey it's going to be okay, we're going to be okay." I told him trying to reassure him.

Shawn grabbed my hand that held his chin, "Come with me." He whispered.

It would be every girl's dream, heck it was my dream before everything happened. We wouldn't have to think about long distance and I would be there for my birthday.

"Shawn-"

"Avelyn, I don't want to lose you again. And think of it as a birthday gift, I don't want to be away from you. You didn't even get to do all of tour, so at least be there with me for the end of it. Please?" He pleaded looking at me with hope.

I laughed, "Well if you let me finish talking I was going to tell you that I should've had been told in advance cause now I have to rearrange things."

"So that's a yes?" Shawn asked with excitement.

I nodded, "Of course what kind of question is that?"

Shawn then pulled my hand causing me to lean forward. Our faces were just inches apart, my heart beating so loud I'm sure he could hear it.

"You got a little something right there." Shawn whispered looking down at my lips before back up at my eyes.

I smiled, "Oh yeah?" I asked.

He nodded his head before leaning in and capturing my lips with his. My eyes fluttered shut at the sudden contact of our lips together. I could feel his tongue swipe at my lips. I was gonna open my mouth but he pulled away. I opened my eyes and seen him have a playful smirk on his lips.

"Got it." He told me softly.

I rolled my eyes playfully before cupping his face and leaning in to kiss him again. And well we not only forgot about needing to get ready for the concert but we forgot about the donuts as well.

Still sweet nonetheless.
