"Say you won't let go."

Avelyn

I could smell the scent of fire, like someone lit a candle. I opened my eyes a little to adjust to the light. I was completely tired, we didn't get back to the hotel till 12 pm last night. I seen the clock and seen it was 6 in the morning. I rubbed my eyes before hearing an "oh shit".

I sat up and looked to see Shawn's back to me. He then slowly turned around and started to sing.

"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Avelyn, happy birthday to you!" Shawn sang as he walked towards me with a cupcake that had a candle in it.

I smiled at how cute this was, he sat down on the hotel bed. He handed me the cupcake before kissing my forehead.

"Make a wish." Shawn said.

I looked at him and then down at my cupcake. I closed my eyes before blowing out the candle.

"Thank you for the cupcake." I told him as I set it down.

"You're not going to eat it?" He asked.

I shook my head, "It's six in the morning. I haven't even brushed my teeth, let alone wake up properly."

"Yeah I'm sorry, I know we got in late. And for having a show today." Shawn told me.

I shook my head, "Don't he sorry, I wouldn't want to spend my birthday anywhere else."

"If you wanted you could skip today's show, you've been to the last two back to back. Spend today with Matt and Ian out in the city." Shawn told me as I got out of bed and stretched.

I shook my head, "I love those guys but I love going to these concerts more. I'm going to the show tonight Shawn."

With that I grabbed my outfit I was wearing today. I took them to the bathroom where I got undressed and took a shower. Once I was out I got dressed before walking out.

"How do I look?" I asked.

Shawn looked up from his phone and looked at my outfit. A smile formed on his face.

"Beautiful." He said with a big smile.

I don't know why I expected anything else coming from his lips. It was just a red dress nothing too extra, it was off the shoulders and ended mid thigh. I walked over to where I left my earrings and put them on. I then felt arms wrap around my waist and he rested his head on my shoulder.

"Finally in the 20s huh?" Shawn asked.

I laughed, "Don't remind me, bye teen years."

"Well its just another day, you hardly notice a difference." He told me as he let go of me.

I nodded and looked at the time to see it was 7:30. I still had to do my makeup and it was still really early. I suddenly felt over dressed for it being early. I sat down and did my makeup as Shawn went to take a shower. By the time we were done getting ready it was about an hour later. Still early.
