It was probably the dumbest and most stupid idea but Dylan and I were on the school roof. It's a secret place where football players hangout and smoke weed and vape.
The thing is you could easily fall off and die. So there was no way I was going to let Dylan near the edge.
For some reason I saw something behind his eyes.
"What's wrong?"
"Why do you always give me your lunch my family is doing finically fine now. So you don't have to waste your lunch on me" he tells me.
"Well I just felt bad but you didn't answer my question" I say and he rolls his eyes.
"Josie just stop I see what you're trying to do you're using me as some type of rebound from Ryan" he says and I'm shocked he would think that low of me.
"Dylan me and Ryan aren't dating and I don't care about him I just wanted to know what's wrong but fine" I say and feel offended.
"Josie just don't make me feel like you only want me around to make yourself feel better"
"Dylan please you just like the fact that I replace and block out everything in your life that sucks" I exclaim and then I get up he ruined my night.
"Josie" he says but I ignore him and when I begin to walk away my foot slipped.
Oh shit.
I tumbled backwards and began to roll off the building and I don't know if it were my screams I was hearing. But Dylan grabbed me with every ounce of muscle he had.
Adrenaline must've hit him like a truck for a weak body like his.
"I got you!" He yells and helps me up and I fall onto to him.
"Dylan oh my god I'm so sorry I-" I'm cut off when he hugs me of all things to do he hugs me.
"Josie I don't wanna lose you" he says and I feel touched.
"I don't wanna lose you either" I say and we decided to go back down into the building.
"Josie I didn't know our school had a pool" he says and an idea comes to my head.
"Let's check it out" I tell him and he smiles.
I then lead him to the swimming pool.
He took his shirt off first and then his pants and jumped it. I laughed and began to remove my jeans and my shirt.
Everything feel like it was moving in slow motion I then got out and watched Dylan float.
"Get back in it's actually warm" he says and I jump in and it's freezing cold.
"What the fuck it's freezing" I say and begin to shiver.
"You're such a girl" he tells me and my feminine side decided to take control.
I swam to him and began to try to put him in a headlock. Suddenly as I touch him I see all my memories with Ryan and I jump back.
"Hey what's wrong" he asks as I decide to get out.
"Nothing it's nothing" I say and grab the extra towels and hand him one as he gets out of the pool.
He wraps it around himself and dries off all while I begin to cry.
"Josie hey talk to me"
"You wouldn't understand" I say and then he hugs me. I let myself cry on him about stupid Ryan.
Why did it have to be Ryan of all people I could cry over. I wish my life weren't so fucking complicated.
By the time we get out rehearsals were long over so we grabbed our things and when we went outside Issac and Davina were waiting for us.
"You two done yet" Issac says and Davina laughs and gives me a questioning not look.
"Did you two" she whispered and I made a disgusted face and his mom drop us all home.
My legs feel weak and I have to take a shower to wash away the pool on me. I sit down on the floor of my room. Then I check my phone and I decided to text Yasmin.
She and I never really talk and she's super smart and I'm going to need a tutor one of these days.
"Hey you still up" I text her and she replies with telling me she was about to fall asleep. I then tell her to just go to sleep and we'll talk another time. I sit in bed to think.
"Honey we need to talk" my mom said walk into my room and sitting on my desk chair.
"Okay" I softly say.
"You're not in trouble or anything but I just wanted to check up on you and make sure you're doing okay. I know you've been going through a rough time and it's important to know what's going on in my child's life. So talk to me Josie I'm never going to judge you" she says and wipes her glasses and smiles.
"I think I'm starting to like this one guy but I know it would've work we're too different" I tell her and she nods.
"What's his name?"
"Dylan you've met him the one who wears a hoodie and jeans in 90 degree weather" I tell her and she laughs a bit but keeps her focus.
"Wait the one with the black hair and the blue eyes" she says and I shake my head.
"He has like hazel colored eyes but I kind of like him but he doesn't feel the same I'm sure" I say and she pats my back.
"Well you don't know that sweetie guys aren't the best at expressing their feelings believe me I know" she says and laughs and looks at the family picture I have on my desk.
"Mom how did I go from middle drama to a high new level of drama in high school?" I ask her.
"Well as you grow up the world around you tends to change as does the people around you" she tells me and then I nod and tell her I'm going to take a shower. She hugs me and walk out as I think of my next move.
Confronting Nina.
