•Chapter 29•

Tessa's POV:
It's been 1 week since we came back from the cruise, Erika's only 5 weeks and me and Jake are still coping and working on our relationship. It's been hard but me and Jake are almost to the way we were, there are times when I just lash out on him or he lashes out on me due to frustration, we don't like to talk about what happened because it's hard, my mom is coming to visits today, she doesn't know about me, but I hope she's changed, she used to be very strict and cared a lot about wealth. I'm sitting on the couch and Jake is upstairs in our room, Erika and Chance are out shopping, they've become a lot closer, the same goes for Alissa and Anthony who finally made it official.

T:JAKE!

He came running downstairs and came in for a kiss but I turned my face and he kissed my cheek, he furrowed his brows in confusion as I walked away into the kitchen. He quickly followed behind me like a stupid dog, I groaned and turned to him.

J:Are you ok?
T:No I'm not ok Jake because the house is a mess and my mom will be here any second!
J:The housekeeper just finished up babe what are you talking about?
T:Of course you wouldn't understand Jake, why are you here?!
J:Cause you called me!?
T:JUST LEAVE JAKE!

Jake looked hurt when I screamed at him, why am I like this? I just screamed at him for no reason, he's right, the house is clean, I look up at him and he's walking back up the stairs, I quickly run after him, I finally make it up the stairs and Jake slams his bedroom door, I slowly open it and see him sitting on the bed with his hood on and his head in his hands, I walk over to him and sit down next to him.

T:Jake.....
T:Babe?

He looks up at me and frowns, I cup his face with my hand and pull him into a hug.

T:I'm sorry babe, I didn't mean to scream at you, I've been so on edge lately, I guess it's just the stress of my mother coming over.

I try to pull away from the hug but Jake pulls me onto his lap and lays his head on my shoulder.

J:I love you Tessa.
T:I love you more Jake.
J:Impossible.

He lifts his head off my shoulder and leans in to kiss me, I lean in as well and just as our lips touch the doorbell rings, Jake begins to pull away but I pull him back in completely ignoring my mother. After 10 seconds I pull away and grab Jake's hand and drag him down stairs, to the door, I open the door and see my mother impatiently waiting, she walks in and hugs me.

L:Oh Tessa, I've missed you so much!
T:I've missed you too mom...

She pulls away and looks me up and down.

L:What took so long to get the door?

I completely ignore her question and turn to Jake.

T:Mom, this is Jake, Jake this is my mom....
J:Nice to meet you Mrs.Brooks, I've heard so much.
L:Really Tessa, you could do so much better, where did I go wrong with you child?!
T:Mom!

She walks past us and into the kitchen, I look over at Jake who's looking down at the floor

T:Jake I'm so sorry about her, she ju-
J:Tess it's ok, I can go upstairs if you want.
T:No Jake, you're staying. Please?
J:Of course.

I smile at him and kiss his cheek before we both walk into the kitchen where she is.

T:Dinner is almost ready mom, want something to drink?
L:Water is fine.
T:Ok..

I open the fridge and grab a water bottle for her I grab one for myself and sit next to her while Jake takes a work call outside.

L:Tessa, there are so many cute boys out there for you to pick from, why him, I mean seriously look at him.
T:Mom, Jake is the love of my life, my better half! When I look at him I see the compassionate funny guy I fell in love with! If you can't seem to deal with it then you can leave and never come back, because I'm not going to sit here and let you make Jake feel less than what he is!
L:What is up with you young lady? You never ever scream at me or talk back and you definitely never loose your temper!
T:I DONT KNOW!

Jake finally stepped back inside and I hadn't noticed Chance and Erika were back until Erika stepped into the kitchen.

L:I only act like that when I'm pregnant, WAIT ARE YOU PREGNANT?!
T:Mom I'm not pregnant.
L:OMG YOURE TOTALLY PREGNANT!

I lost it, Jake walked over to me and tried to help me calm down by holding my hand, it was all too much.

T:Mom, I'm not pregnant.
L:YOU TOTALLY ARE, YOU NEED TO TAKE A TEST RIGHT NOW! IM GOING TO BE A GRANDMA!!
T:IM NOT PREGNANT BECAUSE I HAD A MISCARRIAGE A WEEK AGO MOM!
L:What?

Tears flowed down my eyes as I actually said  the words out loud, Jake pulled me into a tight hug, just feeling his warmth calmed me down somehow.

E:Tess....

I pulled away and looked at Jake and I, we were glowing pink, my mom was completely confused, but I didn't care, I pulled Jake down into a passionate kiss, he kissed back and wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck, I finally pulled away and dug my head into his chest as he held me close.

L:What just happened?
E:Love.True love.

I smiled at Erika then turned back to my mother and realized it was time to let her know.

T:Come.

I opened the back door and ran outside and dove into the pool with Erika behind me and Jake as well, I came back up and Jake hugged me from behind as I looked up at my mother.....
