•Chapter 16

Jake's POV:
Watching Tessa get beaten up by Aquata was the hardest thing to watch, all I wanted to do was hug and hold her close, we arrived to this cave near the beach where Aquata tied me up. A few seconds later she walked into the cave and kneeled down in front of me, I glared at her with pure anger in my eyes, I tried pulling away from the ties but it was useless.

J:Let me go!
A:Oh Jakey trust me you don't want to go back you belong here with me, I'm your mother!
J:They are my family, and Tessa is the love of my life, you are nothing but an obstacle in my road of life!
A:I AM YOUR FAMILY, I DIDN'T LIE TO YOU FOR YEARS LIKE THEY DID, THEY DIDN'T TELL YOU WHAT THEY REALLY WERE UNTIL LATER ON!
J:THEY LIED TO PROTECT ME FROM YOU, YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A MONSTER!

She slapped me before walking out and talking with someone who I guess was one of her minions.

A:Be sure he drinks this, he has to have mermaid blood in his system to be more powerful than all the other mermen out there.
?:Yes ma'am.

Soon a blonde haired girl walked in, as soon as she stepped into the light I recognized her as...Alissa, she saw me and froze.

J:Please Alissa you have to help me!
A:Jake?
J:Please Alissa!!
A:Umm I can't she'll kill me!
J:Come with me to my house, you can meet all my friends and you can live there, you can share a room with Tessa, just help me!
A:Uhhh...fine!

She started untying the ties and soon I was free, I stood up and was about to leave when I saw Aquata come in, Alissa became invisible and Aquata looked confused, she extended her hand and I crossed my arms in front of me to protect myself when suddenly a gust of wind hits her making her fall to the floor. Did I just do that?! I extend my hand blue light comes out of it, Aquata flinches at the sight of it, Alissa comes out of hiding and looks shocked.

A:Woah!
J:What is this? How do I have this?
A:It's Celestial Energy!
J:What is that?
A:Umm you get it when you kiss a mermaid that shares a special connection to you, you guys both share that magic as long as that connection is still there. Usually it's received when the mermaid is unconscious and you kiss her.....
J:Tessa....
A:Yea...
J:What does it do?
A:Umm so basically if you guys both channel anger it is used as a weapon, but if you guys both channel sadness or worry it can heal. It also sort of tells you what the other is feeling by the color it comes out. Blue is sad or worry, red is anger, yellow is joy, green is jealousy and stuff like that.

I nod before running out of the cave with Alissa behind me, I made it back to the house and I opened the door at the exact moment Tessa and Erika were about to leave, Tessa's face lit up as she saw me and ran over to me, she jumped on me making me fall to the floor, she giggled.

T:Sorry, I was just so happy to see you're ok because I thought that you would be a m-

I cut her off by kissing her, she smiled before kissing back, I grabbed her face with one hand and the other hand pulled her closer, I pulled away and saw that she was glowing pink, I was too.

T:Woah!
J:What does pink mean?
T:Love.

I smiled at Tessa and she pulled me in for a hug.She got up and I did too, we all walked into the kitchen and I told them about how Alissa saved me and they all thanked her. The girls used their moon rings to turn Alissa back into a light mermaid. Me and Tessa went up to my bedroom and decided to see what this Celestial Energy could do, I held her hand and we instantly started glowing again.

J:Are you ok? You got beat up pretty bad earlier!
T:Yea just a little sore and bruised up.
J:Let me get you some medicine from downstairs I'll be back in a few seconds.

I kissed her quickly before I went downstairs, I saw Alissa sitting on the couch, I grabbed the bottle of pills and went to sit next to her on the couch.

J:Thanks again for what you did!
A:You're welcome.

I pulled her into a short hug but as we pulled away she pressed her lips on mine, I quickly pulled away and she apologized, I grabbed the pills and went back upstairs.

Tessa's POV:
I made my way downstairs to see what was taking Jake so long, when I made it to the last step I saw him kissing Alissa, my heart shattered into a million pieces, I ran back upstairs and packed my stuff when Jake came into the room.

J:Tessa what are you doing?

He grabbed my hand and as soon as he did I started glowing a very dark blue.

J:What's wrong?

I pulled away from his grip and grabbed me bag, I made it to the door and turned around.

T:I hope you and Alissa are happy together!
J:TESSA NO!

I walked out of the door and out of the house, I could hear Jake screaming from the house but I ignored him as I got in my car and drove to Tristan's house, he also knew what I was so I knew I could count on him to make me feel better, I don't know when I'll be back but I just can't be near him right now, suddenly I started glowing grey, I knew it wasn't me so it had to be Jake, because grey means regret....
