I have to admit after being on the motorbike for a while I started to feel more comfortable riding on it, even though i was clutching onto Toni's back so tightly the whole journey because every two seconds i was worried I was going to fall off. When we finally arrived a wave of relief flowed through me, I hated feeling like i was going to die for the whole bike ride. I handed Toni the helmet and she locked up her bike while I entered pops. I was automatically so much happier, being somewhere that I enjoy being in and not having to worry about my mother ruining it every two seconds. I went and sat down in a booth at the far end away from everyone else when Pop walked over to me.
"Are you eating alone Cheryl?"
"No, I came with a friend this time" I looked over to the door and saw Toni walk in looking for me. "Toni! Over here!"
"Wait isnt she a.."
"Yes Pop she is a Serpent, I know a big change of heart for me" Toni sat down opposite me in a booth.
"So...Cheryl, what do you want"
"A strawberry milkshake obvi, anddd a burger and fries"
"and Toni what about you?"
"I'll take a chocolate milkshake and some cheesy fries Pop, thanks"
"Right, im on it" Pop walked away and back into the kitchen, leaving me and Toni alone in the booth.
"So Cheryl, why did you ring me again, not someone from the Northside.."
"I... I dont really have any friends on the northside, everyone in that God damm school hates me. They all know me as that rich bitch, the one thats always causing drama and spilling tea, no one wants to be my friend..." I started to feel tears in my eyes.
"Cheryl... I...I'm sorry." Toni's face turned sad.
"Thats the reason i came to the southside today...not for a stupid news article... but to try have a fresh start... a new me.."
"Cheryl....them northsiders, they dont know the real you." Toni grabbed my hands "Today...today I saw the real you, yes you might be Sassy and sometimes a little rude...but thats because you have had an awful childhood. Like me..."
"Toni...are you serious.."
"Deadly...serious."
"I dont want to go back the Northside... but my mothers gonna force me there tommorow."
"Its probably safer for you Cheryl.."
"I know but they are bitches."
"If you are upset, or struggling, ring me, i dont care what time, I will pick up."
"Thank you Toni, your such a good friend" She smiled at my statement. Then Pop returned to our table.
"Heres your food girls, enjoy"
"Thanks Pop."
