The new girl, Cheryl Blossom, suddenly turns up at southside high, but shes nothing like the rest of the students, she doesn't fight and is high maintenance, but thats what makes Southsider, Toni Topaz, finds coming attractions to her.
By the time we finally reached Wetherbee's office first period had already started, so he gave the Serpents a small lecture about the ethos of Riverdale High then sent us all off with our schedules. Sweetpea and Fangs had matching lessons and me and Toni had matching lessons, so no matter what no one was without anyone they knew.
Me and Toni split off from the two boys and headed to our first lesson, already ten minutes late, when we walked in the teacher wasn't happy to say the least, so I had to explain everything with all the new students transitioning to our school. It was almost like he didn't even work here he knew so little about this place. He sat Toni next to me in the far corner, so we ended up gossiping the whole lesson instead of listening to the boring video infront of us. I just had to catch her up with ALL of the Riverdale High drama. But I knew she was getting bored of it, unsuprisingly.
When lunchtime rolled around we didn't bother meeting back up with the Boys, I had a surprise instore for Toni. I dragged her straight out of the school and into my car, she didnt even know what was going on.
"Cheryl, what are we doing." She said while I was pushing her into her Car seat. "Its a surprise Tee-Tee, but don't worry, you will like it. Also its only 5 minutes away." I walked back around to my side of the car and slid into the seat, I turned to face Toni and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. "Awee.." Toni cooed, obviously wanting more. "We need to go babe, sorry." I quickly turned the ignition and pulled out of the carpark.
Once we were on the highway I started to drive as fast as I could towards the border of Riverdale, I had planned this date all day, and sent Jughead to set it all up. Thank God he was too injured to come to school today, otherwise I would be stuck in that boring school. We started to incline up the mountain next to Riverdale, Toni looking more and more nervous the higher and higher we got up. Once we reached the top I pulled over and stepped out of the car, Toni following close behind.
I turned and held her hand, pulling her through the trees, we kept walking and walking until we reached the edge of the cliff, revealing a cute little date area. There was a blanket on the floor with pillows around it, a picnic basket, full of baguettes and fresh fruit and food. Fairy lights hung over the area, piles of blankets and a bottle of champagne.
"Surprise!" I turned to face Toni and her face lit up with surprise. "Oh.. my god... Cher-" I cut her off mid sentence. "Stop, don't thank me, this is me thanking you for being an amazing girlfriend, and doing so much for me." She moved closer to me and wrapped me in an embrace, then wrapped her hands around my neck and pulled me in for a kiss, it wasn't quick yet it wasn't long. It was us sharing our emotions with each other. "So.. shall we sit?" "We shall!"
We sat next to each other on the pillows, my head resting on Toni's shoulder, and we relaxed. We just sat, eating food and drinking Champagne. There was no rush, nowhere we needed to be. We decided it would be best for us not to go back to school that day anyway.
We were there for hours, talking, laughing and just enjoying each others company. It felt good to finally go out together and be able to call it a date, our relationship went by really fast, but I felt a connection with her that I have never felt before, and I loved it.
It got to the point that we were there for so long that we were able to watch the sunset over Riverdale, it was beautiful. Toni wanted to go take a photo so while she was busy, I snook her polaroid camera out of the basket and took a picture of her, without her knowing. "Hey, babe, ready to go home?" Toni turned around asking me. "Whenever you are babe." She smiled at me, as cringey as we were, we enjoyed being in each others company, Toni Topaz was something special.
