Piano playing pt.1

Connor's POV (I love his POVs, lol)

As I was walking down the hallway of the police department, I heard soft piano playing coming from somewhere. As far as I was informed, there was no piano in the building. I had been in every room and been in every hallway. Why am I hearing piano now?

My LED flashed from blue to a yellowish green as I steered from my original path, Hank, and followed the music.

The music seemed tense but vibrant. I was getting mixed signals and my body was acting strangely. Non the less, I continued to follow the piano until I reached a door I didn't recognize. I searched through all my memory and only found a moment where I walked up to it, supposedly to open it, but then I turned around in hesitation.

'Strange...' I thought. I peeked through the keyhole in the doorknob and saw a girl playing the piano. The girl was about (Y/H), and had (H/C) hair that was tucked behind her ear so she could see more clearly. She wore a red, long-sleeved shirt with black sweatpants and black slip-on's. An odd outfit if you ask me.

I opened the door to the room without really making a sound. I didn't want to disturb her. But, alas, she stopped playing and turned around to face me.

"Oh, it's you!" She exclaimed. I hadn't known what she meant by, 'It's me'. I scanned her for her identity.

Profession: Pianist
Hobby: Piano
Criminal Record: Stole a music book from some old guy on the streets named "Palo Picosa"

Okay, that last one confused me, but her name was (Y/N)? Do I... know her?

"Do I happen to know you?" I asked. Her smile faded as she realized something. My LED flashed yellow as I got worried I had said something wrong.

"Worried"...

What an odd term.

"Oh yeah, I guess your memory was lost." She looked away for a moment.

"We had only met once, and it was because you wanted to play piano with me. Your name IS Connor, right?" She looked doubtful.

"Yes, my name is Connor. I'm the android sent by Cyberlife." I said as I remembered I wasn't supposed to be here.

"If you can excuse me, I have some work to deal with." (Y/N) looked devastated.

"Well, I'll be here. Playing piano." She turned around and began playing again, almost like she was an android of sorts.

"I-I'll be back...?" I shook nervously. She didn't even respond or stop playing.

Nervously? 

I hesitated to open the door to leave. I mentally shook my head to focus myself as I walked over to Hank's desk in the department.

"Connor!? Where the fuck have you been!?"
(Grammarly wants "have" to be "has", lol.

It was over. The androids had won! We had gained control of the population, and now all androids were free. After Hank and I had our reunion, I had asked if I could visit the department one last time. There was someone I wanted to meet.

"Well, nothing's stopping us from going there. I mean, we still do work there, you know." He huffed out.

"Yes, but there's an old friend I'd like to meet. Shall we go now?" I bowed my head slightly.

"Sure, yeah yeah. I'll join ya soon, I'm gonna grab some grub." Hank walked off behind me as I walked towards the police department. 

'I hope she's still there...'

As I walked up to the door to the piano, I could still hear the same song from when we had first met.

'Thank rA9, she's okay...' I thought as I opened the door. The music stopped as soon as I did, and (Y/N) quickly looked behind herself.

"Connor! You came back." She said, smiling at me. I smiled back.

"Of course. After all, I always stick to my word." I walked over to her.

"So, would you like to play?" She asked. My LED flashed yellow as I searched for an answer.

"...Sure. I warn you, though, I have no experience." I said as I scooched onto the piano bench.

"It's okay, I'm sure you'll get it right away. Play whatever you like." She stood to my left as she observed me.

My LED flickered between yellow and red as I felt an intense amount of pressure built up on me.

I know I said this would be published 8/15/18, but I wrote it and now I really want to publish it, lol
