Chapter 5: Locked into the room

Chapter 5

Katniss P.O.V.

"Riley please honey open the door", I shout from outside her and Becca's room, banging on the door.

Riley took the key to their room from Peeta's nightstand where he put it after the girls had locked themselves in and it took us half a day to get them to open the door. Peeta was so close to break the door down, but the girls would've been so scared, they were only two, and very smart, we didn't even know that they knew how a key worked.

She must have looked for the key in our room and found it on the shelf of Peeta's nightstand.

"Riley!" I say.

Becca is in there too, but she was asleep when Riley locked the door, I had just put her in her bed and walked out of the room when the door shut behind me. Riley must have lured behind the door and sneaked in when I walked out.

And now I'm alone. Peeta is not here and I'm starting to panic over here.

I pick up my phone and call Rye.

"Hey Katniss", he answers.

"Can you please come over now?" I ask into panicked voice.

"What happened?"

"Riley has locked her inside the twins room with Becca, I can't get her to open, it's been an hour now", I say.

"We'll be right there", he says.

He must be at the bakery, and is taking who ever is there with him.

I continue on banging on the door.

"Riley! Open up!"

And I don't even get a response when I shout. I haven't heard a word from either one of the girls.

God this is not happening please. I'm dreaming, please tell me I'm dreaming. This is a nightmare, this is just another one of my horrible nightmares.

I hear the door open and close and some running steps. Rye, Daniel, Will and Felicia comes running.

"I can't get them out, they won't even talk to me", I say. "What if Riley gets an asthma attack? She doesn't have her inhaler, I have it, what if she needs it?"

I'm just thinking of the worst things that can happen. That's a mothers job when something happens to her babies. I carried them for nine freaking months, I've fed them with my breasts, and that I can tell you wasn't always the funniest thing to do, it hurt sometimes, but I did it because they needed me too, so they could grow up healthy. I've made them, Peeta and I did, they're our flesh and blood, and I don't want anything to happen to them. That's why I think of the worst things that can ever happen, as every other mother in this world.

"Katniss just calm down, we're going to get then out", Daniel says.

"Riley honey, it's grandpa, will you please open the door for me?" Will asks knocking on the door.

No answer. Riley loves him. She would never just ignore him. Is she angry or something? If she's angry, I really don't know why she is.

I start hyperventilate. I want them to open the door. I swear that I will break this door down.

"God Riley open the door!" I shout and bang on the door.

Rye takes my arms and hold them down, pulling me away from the door.

"Katniss that is not going to help", he says.

"I know, I know, I just don't know what to do", I say.
