Chapter 3: Riley?

Chapter 3

Peeta's P.O.V.

After Katniss and I finish decorating the house, which we hadn't really planned on doing, but kind of had to now, I start decorating the big mighty cake.

Yesterday after the kids went to bed and Katniss fell asleep in Becca's bed, I started to bake the cake. It's the biggest one I've ever made.

Katniss comes into the kitchen just as I'm done putting the pink marzipan over the mighty cake.

"Oh wow Peeta! I've never seen a cake this big before, it's bigger then the one you made last year", she says and wrap her arms around my waist.

"Yeah because the twins are bigger", I point out. "I've decided that every year I'm gonna make the cake a little bit bigger then it will be the year before, because they're bigger".

"That sounds great babe", Katniss says and kisses my cheek. "What motive is this one going to be?"

"Princess castle with two princesses on top of it", I say and walk up to the fridge and take out a white cold box. "I made these yesterday when I was at the bakery". I open the box and Katniss gasps.

"Peeta..." She breathes out.

Inside the box are two marzipan princesses that looks exactly like Riles and Becca, exactly like them.

"Do you like them?" I ask her.

"Do I like them? I love them, how can you manage to do things like this?" She asks me.

"Patience", I say. "And I can paint and sketch, that helps as well, and to be good at baking".

Katniss looks at me. She looks at me with her big silvery eyes. Looking at me in awe.

"What is it?" I ask smiling.

She shakes her head.

"Nothing, nothing, you're just so amazing", she says.

I get all warm in my entire body. I always get warm when Katniss tells me things like this, because I don't think this about myself.

I put away the box and pull Katniss close to me.

"You make me the person I am Katniss", I say.

"Peeta..." She whispers and kisses me.

But it's true. Katniss is the one making me who I am, and without her I would be absolutely nothing.

Suddenly we hear the front door open and I just hug her instead as we look to the side and see Prim enter the kitchen.

"So you finally decided to come home", I laugh.

She takes an apple and take a bite.

"I was only gone for the night", she says with the apple bite still in her mouth.

"Chew with your mouth closed Prim!" Katniss laughs and break loose from me.

Prim closes her mouth and chew big and loud. I start laughing and head back to my cake after putting the white box back in the fridge.

"So where are the trolls?" Prim asks taking out a water bottle from the fridge.

"At Finn and Ann's", Katniss says. "They wanted so much to play with Fisher".

"Okay, well I can see that they're coming back, since the house looks like a princess fairytale, so I'm not gonna be sad", she says.

Yeah Prim really loves the twins and they both love and adore her. She's their funny auntie Primmy.
