Chapter 30 : His Warmth

Hello readers it's angel here and I'm back with another chapter. I know it's not that cold in February but just think that it's like really cold. 😁

Author's POV :

You could feels warm hands holding you but you could not open your eyes. You heard someone calling your name but you couldn't respond. You fell in a maze of darkness, slowly loosing consciousness to the cold.

You could hear voices but you couldn't bring yourself to open your eyes, you were too tired due to the cold.
"I'll change her into some warm clothes, you can wait outside" you heard a female voice said. You were too drowsy to think about anything else.

You woke up to the sun rays falling on your face. You yawned waking up, you rubbed your eyes and got up. You noticed that something was wrong, this wasn't your bedroom. "Wait.... This isn't my bedroom..... Where am I? " you asked yourself. You got up and was about to go out of the room when the door unlocked and karry came in. You were more puzzled. Before you could ask him any questions he came and embraced you.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you wait that long. I'm really sorry please forgive me, it's all my fault. Its because I forgot, that you had to wait for so long. I'm really sorry." he said as he hugged you. Everything then clicked, you were waiting for karry after-school and that was how you ended up in this room. "Hey... Its okay. I'm fine now" you said as you patted his back. He looked up at you to make sure you were telling the truth. "Are you sure? " he asked, his words were full of doubt. You could see the guilt in his eyes. "yes, I'm fine now. Don't worry, everyone forgets one time or the other " you said giving him a bright smile. His eyes relaxed and he hugged you one more time. "Thank God you're safe" he whispered. You couldn't help but blush at his comment.

"Ahemmm are we disturbing?" You heard someone clear their throat. You both quickly broke the hug and looked, it was Roy, Mercy and Jackson. "N-nooo... It's nothing like what you think it is " you said, because it was somehow embarrassing. "Okay, we get it but how are you now? You know Jun-" before Roy could finish, karry covered his mouth. "We'll go set up breakfast for everyone" he said before dragging out Roy with him.

"So how are you? ". Jackson asked softly. "I'm better now, but could you tell me what exactly happened? " you asked, because you only remembered waiting for karry and you collapsing due to the immense cold.

"Well to be honest, I'm not sure what happened but karry told me that you had collapsed and asked me to bring Mercy along to the dorm. You had a high fever last night and karry stayed up the whole night, changing the water and checking up on you from time to time, and please don't tell him I told you about this or he'd murder me. He slept only this morning and he decided to check up on you and he saw you awake and the rest you know. He's been feeling guilty about you falling ill. He really cares for you " he said giving you a warm smile.

"Oh.... " was all you could say. You didn't know how you would respond to what he had said. It was hard to imagine that, but it made you happy.
"But it's not his fault.... " you continued. "Maybe, maybe not. We never know. Anyway let's leave this for another day. Let's go down and have breakfast ", Jackson said. "Okay.... " you said. You seemed to be forgetting something. "Omo!!! I haven't called back home. My parents would be worried" you half shouted. In all this mess, you had forgotten to even call your parents. "Don't worry, Mercy talked with your parents. She said you'd be staying over a friend's for some work" Jackson said with a calm face.

"How is he always so calm? " you asked yourself. "Oh" was all you said.
You went down and breakfast was served. There was bacon, with toast and omelet too.
