Continuation of Breaking Dawn: Hunt

Bella POV:

So maybe school hadn't been the best idea, at least not for Nessie. In truth, I did prefer staying back home.

I mean there was no particular advantage to being at school. I mean I cannot understand how I could possibly find any of the work remotely hard. Besides, I had already graduated.

Even more than that, it was harder to control myself when I was in a big crowded area. I knew I had amazing self control but I was still quite new. It still burned and was hard not to think about.

And back at the house we could be ourselves as well. No charades or pretences.

It was easy.

So that was why we, Edward and I, had decided that it was in Nessie's best interests to stay home.

Nessie would not have been able to get anything out of school anyway. She was too strained to form any friendships and she probably already knew more than all the teachers put together.

"Bella, love, do you need to hunt?" Edward called out as he flashed into the room and sat by my side.

"Mmmm, yes I think and maybe Nessie too." Although my eyes were only beginning to fade from a light honey gold, I thought considering the circumstances it would be appropriate.

Charlie and Renee were coming tomorrow and if I hunted now, I would probably not even have to think about having to restrain myself.

Nessie would want to come too for exactly the same reason.

Oh, and that would mean that Jacob would be coming too. Of course, Nessie had become very dependant on him recently.

Edward and I were going to have that talk with them but Nessie was embarrassed enough about her almost slipping up today. We didn't want to make it worse. Besides, a few days couldn't do much harm.

"Nes, Jake" I said, as if they were in the room with us now, "We're going hunting."

Then, we slid open the window and jumped, from the third story, down to the ground. Nessie and Jacob the wolf were at our sides a fraction of a second later.

We ran a up North for a little, maybe 30 or 40 miles, and into the forest that was our hunting ground.

"Let's hunt." Edward said closing his eyes and ranging out as I and Nessie did the same.

Once I had finished feeding I watched Nessie from a distance. She was so fast! Already, she was almost as fast as Edward. Let alone the fact that she was neither fully grown or a full vampire.

Edward joined me and, as engrossed as I was, I barely heard him.

"She's so beautiful isn't she, He sighed, his would-be question a statement.

"Mmmm, the most." I agreed

"Yes, I can only think of one exception," he mused, smiling his crooked smile.

I glared at him, he embarrassed me when he did that, but it didn't last for long and my 'glare' turned into a wide smile.

"We better be getting back," I looked up at the darkening sky. "We don't want Nessie to be tired tomorrow." To this, Nessie gave a loud groan. She really didn't like being babied.

"You too Jake," I joked, 'if you're going to be my son-in-law then I get to boss you about too' I thought to Edward who gave a chuckle - although I could hear the tension behind his façade.
