Chapter 14

I hummed a little tune as I happily stretched. Last night was amazing and I was feeling the aftermath. I looked over to not see Derek beside me. Getting up my hand felt the place where he would've laid. It was cold as ice, as if he hadn't been there at all.

"Derek? Derek!" I tied my robe and walked through the suite. There was no trace of him anywhere which worried me. I checked my phone and saw no missed calls or text messages.

"Maybe he went to handle some business." I mumbled to myself. I went into the restroom to handle my hygiene. After getting dressed I decided to have breakfast down in the casino.

"Oh hey baby." Derek said shocked. He was getting off the elevator as I was getting on. His appearance was a little rough.

"Derek, where the fuck have you been? I was worried sick about you!"

"I know baby. I'm sorry I was ummm down making sure everything was good for the conferences. I'm sorry for having you wake up alone. It'll never happy again beautiful." Derek said.

"It better not. Now go get yourself together so we can get some breakfast." Derek smiled as he grabbed my hand and we walked back to our suite.

"The food here is so good. I wish I could get the recipes from whoever is cooking."

Derek had been silent for a while. He told me before leaving the suite that he had a lot on his mind. Looking up at him I noticed him staring deeply into the game section.

"See something you like?" I nudged him and he snapped out of it. He cleared his throat as he scrambled to get himself together.

"Sorry. I was just thinking about our plans for later today. Tonight we're meeting with some very important people, but you don't have to get all dressed up. Something casual will do just fine." Derek said.

At that moment Eva came stumbling into the cafe after Kenny. He sat down in the only seat at the crowded bar. Eva looked around in a scared daze. There was only one seat in the whole restaurant and I happened to be beside me. I made eye contact with her and gestured for her to come over.

"Lord, please." Derek mumbled.

Eva placed a small smile on her face as she got closer to us. Derek miserably groaned as he stretched his eyes at me.

"Thanks for letting me sit here. This place is so small and packed." Eva looked around disgusted. She stuck her nose up at everyone sitting near us.

"The food is actually very good. It's better than some 5 star restaurants I've been to." Eva looked at Derek and then at me. She batted her eyes as she smiled.

"So you two are really together? Never in a million years would I ever believe this."I laughed hysterically at Eva's comment  making Eva join in. Without hesitation I grabbed the back of Eva's head and slammed it into the table. Derek rushed over to me as I pounded that bitch head countless times.

"Let her go Toni!" Derek yelled as he pulled me up out of my chair. I had a very tight grip on Eva's hair. Kenny raced over trying to help Eva. Her blood was smeared everywhere. She was yelling, screaming and crying out in pain and anger.

"It's not for you to believe or understand. I love Toni she has my heart." Derek said placing my hand in his. I snapped out of my evil thoughts and blushed at Derek.

"A seat just opened up by Kenny. I think you should go take it, Eva." Derek suggested and she left.

That trick was one more word from getting her ass beat down. She worked my nerves for today. I'm going to the spa after this."

"Okay. I'm going to make sure everything is still on for tonight and watch some tv up in the room."

Derek pulled me into a tight embrace before we left each other. I went straight to the spa with no appointment. I didn't care if I had to wait, I really needed time to myself. After a 5 minute wait I was helped and getting pampered.

"Right this way Mr. Edmonds." My eyes opened wide as I tried to quickly gather my stuff. The only probably was that I was in a fogged up ass steam room. The door opened and closed revealing Kenny.

"Hey Toni! Long time no see. How have you been?" Kenny asked.

"I've been okay. You?" Kenny sat on the other side of the steam room and smiled at me, "I would be better if you were my girl."

"You do realize that you had me at one point then lost me. So stop flirting with me it's not helping you at all."

"You're right, but you know what we had was better than what you have with Derek. We have chemistry and nothing tops that." Kenny slide over to where I was and waited for me to speak.

"You're so full of shit. You really think charming me will make me mess what I have with Derek up. You have a girl remember Eva?"

"Eva isn't my girl she's my special friend. I will do anything for you Toni. Why can't you see that?" Kenny explained.

"Okay. We'll break up with your special friend."

Kenny scrunched up his and looked away. The steam room grew silent.

"I gathered my things and got up, "That's what I thought." I headed for the door but Kenny softly grabbed my elbow halting my steps.

"Okay. I will give me four days." Kenny said shocking the hell out of me.
