Chapter 17

"I can't believe this shit! You know what I knew it! I knew it but I didn't think that you would stoop so low." Derek yelled.

"Derek please calm down. It's not what you think."

"Yeah man. Just relax before you have a heart attack or something." Kenny said.

Derek charged at Kenny but I stepped in front of Kenny. Derek stopped and looked at me suspiciously.

"I can't believe you're protecting this bitch!"

"Naw your momma is the bitch, bitch! Now what you want to do?" Kenny yelled behind me.

"No! No! There will not be any fighting. Both of you need to calm down.

"Calm down? Toni you're my girl. I caught you with him cheating on me. You should be begging for my forgiveness!"

"Derek you should be doing the same. Where the fuck is my money?"

"What? Is that what this is all about? You're out here being a fucking hoe because a little million dollars is gone! That shit doesn't equal up at all!"

"Derek don't call me out of my name!"

"Or what Toni? I'm calling you exactly what you're behaving like right now. Now come on we can finish this discussion back at the hotel."

Derek reached for my arm but I yanked back. I was through with him and wanted no parts of him at all.

"Toni don't play with me. Now come on before I get mad!"

"She doesn't have to go anywhere with you! Derek take your dysfunctional ass on somewhere. Don't you think you've done enough?" Kenny said.

A smirk was now on Derek's face as he turned and walked away, "Oh I'm just getting started."

"Toni don't pay that fool any mind. He's just having a little temper tantrum. Let's just get your stuff out of the suite and go from there."

Kenny and I waited patiently for the elevator to reach the lobby.

"Oh! Your shirt is so cute. I have one just like it." I said to a random woman getting off the elevator.

"Thank you. I just saw this and picked it up. Thought it was so pretty and it went great with these jeans." She walked off smiling.

Kenny and I got on the elevator and headed to the 34th floor. Finally making it to the floor and I stepped off the elevator and almost died.

"MY CLOTHES! HEY PUT THAT DOWN! THOSE DON'T BELONG TO YOU!" I screamed and yelled at people packing up clothes. People were picking through my stuff like a clothes rack in a store. I marched over to Derek, he was standing in the doorway of the suite.

"Why are you being an asshole? This was highly uncalled for!"

"You threw me to the side so Toni I'm throwing you and all your shit to the side. I was the wrong one to cross! I'm going to make you pay for playing with my heart!" Derek slammed the door in my face. I turned around and helped Kenny finish pick up my clothes.

"He's so dramatic. What the fuck did you see in him again?" Kenny asked making me laugh loud.

"That's a great question that I don't have an answer to."

15 minutes later, I was settled in a whole new hotel. Kenny thought it would be better and safer for me.

"Aye. You know that lady literally just picked your shirt up and put it on. She's a straight savage for that."

"Shut up Kenny. That was one of my fave shirts."

An envelope slid quickly under the door. Kenny stepped over it and swung the door open fast and hard.

"Come back here!" Kenny yelled as he began to sprint down the hallway. I ran to the doorway to see him heading for the staircase.

"Kenny!"

"Go back into the room and lock the doorrrrrr!" Kenny yelled as his voice echoed. I heard the scrambling of him and whomever running. I did what he said before picking up the envelope.

"Toni. Open the door it's me." Kenny said almost out of breath. I quickly opened the door  and a small structure fell to the floor.

"Don't be pulling on me like that! This is a one of a kind!" I closed and locked the door after Kenny walked in.

"Toni this asshole is the one that slid the envelope under the door. He's also in on something with Derek, but he won't tell me." Kenny informed me.

"Please tell me this isn't true. Jéan Claude I looked up to you. Why would you do this to me?"

"I don't know what he's talking about. He's lying to you about everything. Him and Derek are both using you. Why? I don't know but I got caught trying to figure it out." Jéan Claude said looking at Kenny.

Kenny laughed as he leaned back on the couch, "Stop lying. I just caught you sliding that envelope under the door."

"No, you caught me in the hallway. I was coming to you Toni. To tell you what I had learned about this situation. You walked out and looked right at me, so I ran."

"Bullshit. If it wasn't you then who was it?"

"Jean shrugged, "I don't know it was a female."

Kenny laughed as Jéan looked at me and shook his head. Nothing was making sense to me.

"Toni this man doesn't love or want you. It's a bet between him and Derek. I don't know yet what the reward is but I'm sure they're both using you."

"After all the business I've done with you this is what you do Jéan Claude? You actually try to pry us apart with your lies. Well it won't work. Baby like I said he and Derek are up to something." Kenny said.

"What did the female look like?" I asked finally finding my voice. Kenny and I looked at Jéan as he bit his bottom lip.

"I don't know. All I know is she looked like someone momma." Jéan Claude said with a confused tone.

"See Toni. He's full of nothing but straight shit!"
