Derek and I walked up the stairs to a huge mansion. We were about to meet these very important people that Derek knew. I wasn't nervous because I had met many important, wealthy people since working for Kenny.

"You look beautiful baby. They're going to love your sexy ass." Derek whispered in my ear making me blush.

Then it hit me like a brick wall. These special people couldn't be who I thought it was. The door swung open and there stood a happy, older couple.

"There's my handsome son! Come give your mother a hug!" Derek gave her the biggest embrace before turning to the man. They hugged and smiled at each other numerous times.

"Ohh mom, dad I want you to meet Toni. The love of my life." Derek reached for me and I slowly walked up smiling.

"You're so pretty. Let me take your purse and coat. Richard get her stuff!" Richard smiled at me and took my belongings.

"My son is always talking about you. It reminds  me of how I used to talk about Bev to all my friends." Derek's mom slightly blushed.

"Okay eww that's enough flirting. Let me show you around Toni." Derek took my hand and we went deeper into the house.

"Blah, blah, blah....here's pictures on the wall of me. Here's pictures of the rest of my family. Boom here's my room." I walked in and the walls were covered in half naked pictures of women and cars.

"How unique? Who picked the wallpaper Hugh Hefner?" I asked sarcastically.

"Actually he did inspire it but no this work of art was put together by me. Anyway, I brought you up here to talk to you privately. I want to make sure that you're okay with this surprise."

"Derek, I really wish you had told me that you were bringing me here. But it's cool your parents seem very nice."

"Richard isn't my father he's just the guy she married after my dad died. We don't have a good relationship. He's always trying to act like he cares about me but I know he doesn't."

"What makes you say that? He seems so nice and thoughtful?"

Derek turned his head slightly and squinted his eyes at me, "You just met him, how do you know anything about him? Specifically, how can you tell me about how he treats me? I've know him for over 15 years the man is a fucking monster."

"Derek I didn't mean it like that. I meant, never mind let's just forget about it."

"No say what you got to say Toni. You seem to know every damn thing anyway. So tell me about how I'm blowing this out of proportion just like all the therapist." Derek said.

"Knock! Knock! I hope I wasn't disturbing you two but dinner is ready." Mrs. Catherine said. I hurried to her and left Derek alone in his room.

"Sit wherever you like. I hope you aren't allergic to anything I cooked." Richard cheerfully said.

"Thank you and no sir I don't have any allergies that I know of. Everything looks so delicious. You cooked all of this?"

"Yup. I was once a chef that traveled all over the world. I've mastered many cuisines but I've gotten old and now just enjoy cooking just to eat." Richard explained.

Derek walked in with his mother and she had a concerned look on her face. Instead of Derek sitting next to me he sat at the head of the table. Richard stopped talking to me and didn't make any more eye contact with me.

"Well let's eat!" Derek said. We all dug in with little or no talking.

"So Mrs. Catherine I must say your home is decorated beautifully. The color schemes are very unique but flow together nicely."

"Oh thank you. Richard and I combined our love of travel and this was created. Every room is decorated based on a certain continent. Some of these rooms are full of so many antiques." Mrs. Catherine and Richard laughed.

"More like junk." Derek muttered.

The room went silent again. The rest of the day went on in a bore. Derek was being a complete jackass with insulting comments. This was a side of him I had never seen before and I hated it.

"How about when we get back to the hotel we watch some movies?" Derek asked as we pulled off. I said nothing as I looked out the window. Derek's hand went to my upper thigh and he softly squeezed it.

Quickly removing his hand I turned more to the right, "Derek. Don't."

"What's wrong with you? You didn't enjoy yourself?" Derek asked as he pulled into a gas station parking lot. He put the car in park and turned to me.

"I know they can be a little bit much but I thought you wou-"

"Derek, I enjoyed meeting your mother and stepfather. It's your new attitude that I didn't enjoy. You were so mean and rude to them and also me. I don't appreciate it and won't allow it."

"Okay Toni, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude to you. Please forgive me." Derek pleaded as he grabbed my hand. I small smile appeared on my lips as I turned to him. He leaned over to kiss me but I stopped him.

"Call your mother and stepfather so you can apologize." Derek pulled back and ran his hand over his head.

"How about I give you my credit card and you go buy whatever you want?" Derek asked.

I shook my head as I handed his phone to him. He sighed as the phone connected to the car Bluetooth.

"Helloooo!" Richard said.

"Hey Richard, could you call my mom to the phone? I need to tell both of you something."

"Okay honey we're here. What's wrong? Are you okay? Is Toni good?" Mrs. Catherine asked with so much worry in her voice.

"Oh no mom everything is okay. I just want to apologize to both of you for being disrespectful. I'm sorry and it'll never happen again." Derek said.

After some more sentimental talking between the three Derek hung up.

"You're full of so many wonderful surprises Toni. Thank you." Derek leaned over and kissed me passionately.

But I couldn't help but wonder what Kenny was doing.
