Chapter 19

Kenny and I were walking through the hotel lobby when some individuals caught my eye. I sent Kenny up to the room so I could approach Derek.

"So this is what we do now Derek?" Derek turned to me with fire in his eyes. A mean mug emerged as he began to breath hard.

"Toni. I have nothing to say to you. Now please get out of my face and space."

"No! We both owe each other some explanations. We need to talk so we'll be able to fully move on."

Derek rubbed his hand over his head. He shifted in his position, "This is crazy but you're right. Damn you didn't even give me a chance to try to win you back." Derek laughed as we walked towards Starbucks.

Derek and I sat in an overcrowded coffee shop awkwardly staring at each other. With all the noise and people it still seemed as if we were all alone.

"So you've always had a thing for him, huh?" I nodded my head at Derek's question. "That's cool. Makes sense you too actually fit together. I can't believe I just said that out loud."

"What about you and her? Does Kenny know?"

"I like her, always have. Kenny doesn't know and he never has. He would go crazy if he knew. So that's why you can't tell."

"I can't lie or hold info from Kenny!"

"It's not your call. As far as he knows this isn't true and can't be. Everything will come to light but not today or by you."

"Bye Derek. I wish you the best." I said getting up. Derek got up and hugged me, "Same to you and if you ever need anything just let me know."

I turned to walk away as Derek grabbed my hand making me turn around, "We can't sleep together just one last time?"

I snatched my hand away and walked towards the elevators. I couldn't believe he would still try me like that.

"Kenny! Where are you?" I yelled as I walked into the suite. Silence. I walked out on the balcony and saw Kenny with a duffle bag and a letter.

"Did you meet with him?" Kenny asked catching me off guard.

"I umm, yeah I did." I admitted lowly. Kenny stood up and gave me the letter. "Why did it take so long to admit to something that was planned?"

"Planned? That wasn't planned. That was random Kenny." I quickly read over the letter. It basically said that I would meet up with Derek and have sex with him.

"Whatever. He gave you the rest of your money back. Guess the devil does have a heart. I'm going to take a nap." Kenny mumbled.

"I'm not sleeping with him but I know who is. Matter of fact, so do you."

I wanted to make Kenny mad and by the look in his eyes I accomplished my goal. Oddly, I don't feel the relief that I thought I would've gained.

"Who? Eva? I don't care about her at all. She can fuck Santa Clause for all I care. All I want is you, forever."

"I want you too." My heart melted and all the evilness left me. For now anyway.

I finally had him all to myself. I should be happy and excited that the feelings were openly mutual. I should be thrilled at the thought of being loved. But I'm not and it's all became of that bitch.

The next few days went by in a blur. Sitting across from Derek in meetings was odd. Having Kenny caress my thigh and holding my hand under the table was odd. Being held every night and romanced publicly by Kenny was odd.

"What's wrong sweetheart? You haven't touched your food at all." Kenny said catching my attention.

"I just don't have much of an appetite."

"You aren't good at lying Toni. Come tell me what's up with you."

I took a deep breath and looked up at him, "I don't think this is going to work. It's not you-"

"It's me." Kenny finished my statement. I nodded my head. I can't believe I'm actually saying this.

"Okay. Waiter check please!" Kenny said while snapping his fingers.

"Just okay? That's it. You don't care to know why?" Kenny said nothing to me. He finished his meal and waited for the return of his credit card.

"Are you riding with me or catching a cab?" I threw my napkin in Kenny's face making him laugh. He reached for my hand and I gave it to him.

The sound of heavy breathing and clothes ripping drowned out the soft elevator music. I was in complete shock as I let Kenny remove my underwear.

"No Kenny we can't in the elevator." I said giggling. He already had me in the air but I didn't want to get caught.

"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." I wiggled out of Kenny's grip and got myself together. He groaned in aggravation, "Toni just let your guard down for once and be spontaneous."

"Seems like that's something that runs in your family." I mumbled.

"What the fuck did you just say?" Kenny asked clinching my wrist.
