"Sales this week have been crazy. The latest designs are selling out every where." Juliet announced walking in.

"Perfect! Everything is going as planned. It's about time I take my vacation. I've been working very hard." Kenny replied to her.

"Boy, you didn't do anything this is all because of Toni." I looked up shocked. Was she too in on pimping me out like her brother.

"You were the one that said no to the zipper, right?" Juliet asked and I let a breath of relief go.

"Yes, it was me. I didn't do anything special though." Juliet walked over to me and laughed, "Don't be so modest right now Toni. Kenny, take her out or give her a raise."

"WHAT?!" Kenny and I both yelled together. We looked at each other and I looked off making sure to roll my eyes.

"Trouble in paradise? Shouldn't you two still be in the lovey dovey stage." Juliet asked. I waited for Kenny to answer but he didn't.

"Well that didn't go as planned so I'm just dating and living life."

Juliet rushed to me, "What did he do to you? He didn't hurt you did he?" Juliet placed her hand on my chin and lifted my head higher. She examined my face closely making me feel weird.

"Kenny, I swear on grandma's grave that if you mess this up I will hurt you!" Juliet said turning to Kenny. "No matter what he says I like you and you're going to be around for a long time." Juliet loudly said earning a groan from Kenny.

" I didn't do anything to her. Now let her get back to work before I tell mom about the time you lost your virginity." Kenny laughed as Juliet bit her lip in embarrassment.

"Shut up fart face! I got some dirt on you too so watch it." Juliet stormed out of the office. I'm guessing that isn't one of her proudest moments.

"I can't stay late after work today since I have a date. You should be able to handle everything without me."

A mean, bitter laugh escaped Kenny's mouth. He stared at me like he was deciding whether to shoot or stab me.

A smile appeared on his face suddenly, "Have fun."

It was now 6:30 and I was going over myself. This was just a date and a little revenge to Kenny. I wasn't expecting anything to come out of this and I hope Derek didn't either.

The doorbell echoed through my home and I hurried to the door. The heels and my hardwood floors weren't the best combination. I slid to the door praying that I wouldn't fall and hurt myself.

"You look stunning!" Derek raved as I opened the door. "Thank you so do you." Derek handed out a bouquet of roses to me. I got a view of his nicely tailored suit. He looked good but I couldn't let him know how good.

We got into his car and zoomed through the city. The soft music blaring through the speakers as we arrived at our destination. It was "Al Serpo" the finest restaurant in the whole city.

"I hope you like this place. I hope you like French cuisine." Derek placed his hand on my lower back as we moved through the restaurant. We ended up at a comfortable table looking over the nearby lake.

"I don't know if you've ever had French food but I'm going to run it down to you." I nodded my head and gave him my full attention. "There are three courses hors d'oeuvre, plat principal and fromage." Derek informed me.

"Well I don't speak French and I've never eaten French food so I guess you'll have to order for us."

"No problem. I know exactly what to order for us. It'll all be delicious." Derek said as the waitress approached us.

"We'll take the best red wine you have. We'll both take the croque monsieur, steak frites and cafe liegeois." The words smoothly floated his mouth. The waitress nodded as she was walked off with our order.

"How did you learn to speak French so fluently?"

"I went to school overseas and it was a must that I learned. It took me the whole 4 years of high school to get it right. It paid off when I came back to the states. Do you speak any other languages besides English?" Derek explained.

"No not really. I know basic Spanish but nothing to keep a convo going."

"Well maybe I can teach you French and we can learn Spanish together. It's better and easier to learn with a study buddy." Derek winked at me just as the waitress appeared with our wine.

Soon our food arrived too. Derek explained to me about how to properly eat the courses. You were suppose to eat enough to savor the taste not get full. I'm happy I listened because as soon as I was the waitress was bringing the next course.

"After dinner I was thinking about taking a nice quite stroll through the park. Would you prefer walking or a horse driven carriage?"

"I think it would be best to walk. We could work off this meal." Derek chuckled at my comment as he pulled out his debit card and sat it on the receipt between us.

"I highly agree with you on that. But you don't need to work on anything you're just right. Damn near perfect, but I can't call it on the 1st date."

Derek and I walked out of the restaurant and headed across the street to the nearby park. It was late but many people mainly couples were out. The stars were shining brightly and the weather was perfect.

"I really enjoyed tonight Toni. It's been a long time since I've been on a real date." I stopped and turned to him, confusion written all over my face. "What do you mean "a real date."

"I'd rather not get deep. However, I will tell you  that my dates barely make it past the appetizer." Derek said.

"Why? Does the convo be terrible or something?"

"Naw they would rather get physical then a good meal and convo. But you're different and I would be lying if I said I didn't like that." Derek winked at me and we continued walking and having small talk.
