Chapter 21

I closely watched the news as more information about Juliet's case appeared. It had been 2 months since Derek died from his injuries in Vegas. He died a week after I left later at the hospital.

Juliet looked miserable as she sat listening to her fate. I felt bad for her somewhat. Even though she eventually tried to fuck me over I don't believe that was her true character.

A quick overlook of the courtroom showed Kenny, his father and I'm guessing other members of his family. I bit my lip as I admired him in his suit.

DING DONG!

I looked through the peek hole to see flowers. I opened the door and Kenny revealed his face.

"Hey. I was in the neighborhood and saw these and thought of you." He handed them to me and I smelled them.

"Come on in." I walked away to look for a vase. I found a perfect place on the counter to place the vase.

"So how have you been? You look good by the way." Kenny said sitting down.

"I've been okay, but how are you? I know this whole situation with Juliet is really getting to you."

"Yeah it is. Luckily the case is being looked at as an abused, scorned woman manner. After Derek was admitted to the hospital a lot of women came to see him. Juliet and numerous others have said that he has beat them before."

I kind of got mad from hearing about Derek's other women. I was done with him but it still hurt to know I wasn't the only one.

"So how long could she possibly serve?"

"More than 5 years but less than 30. It's all up to the jurors. We got her the best defense attorney money can buy but you know how that goes." Kenny replied.

We sat on the couch quietly watching tv. There was a huge space between us. Since Vegas it had been there. Kenny apologized the Monday he came back and that was it.

"Well I should get going I have to go interview a new assistant. Have a good day." Kenny said and walked out of my apartment.

KENNY'S P.O.V

As soon as I got in my office I headed for my lower right drawer in my desk. I gulped down some vodka as I viewed the appointments. All I saw was women names. A female assistant was the last thing I wanted or needed.

I took one last swig and put everything back up. An interview was scheduled in 2 minutes and I had to get ready. I put a few eye drops in my eyes and headed for my office door.

Interview after interview went from bad to terrible. I went on my balcony and lit a cigarette. I didn't even smoke but I needed it.

"You know those things aren't good for you." I turned around to see Toni smiling.

"I know but I've been stressing. I'll stop before I pick up a habit."

Toni walked up to me and took the cigarette. She took a quick puff before putting it out.

"Hey, I wasn't finished relieving my mind. Now I got to go get another one." Toni grabbed me and wrapped her arms around my neck. It had been months since we had been this close.

"What are you doing Toni? I thought you didn't want us?" She looked off scratching her temple while looking off into the distance.

"Hello, word to Ton-" I was cut off with her locking her lips on mine. It heated up quickly as I picked her up and carried her into my office. Knocking everything to the floor I laid Toni down on my desk. I lifted up her skirt and slid her panties to the side. Toni unbuckled my pants as we continued to kiss.

I rubbed my tip against her and she was soaking. I stepped forward, deepening myself in her. A moan escaped her lips as her body tensed up. Slowly I thrusted in and out of her body.

It had been months since I had been with her, actually any woman. After she left me in Vegas I was lost. I met some girls even had dinner with Eva but I couldn't sleep with them. My heart wouldn't let me.

Toni rocked back and forth matching my strokes. I was close and she was too. Her body shook as she grabbed me tightly. All her moans and screams slowly becoming unbearable. She was a heavy breathing mess as she rode out her high and I was right along with her.

"So I guess this means you're all in and want to get back together?" I asked as we got ourselves together.

Toni shook her head, "No I just needed to get some." I stared at her in disbelief, "Sike! Of course I'm all in. I now know what I need and want."

I picked her up and spun her around. I couldn't believe we were back together. I was so happy I didn't know what to say or do.

"Kenny! We got to talk now!" My dad yelled as he rushed into my office. Along with him was Ju's attorney and he looked worried.

I put Toni down and sighed, "What is it now?"

"Who is this woman Kenny? You look familiar, do I know you?" My father asked.

"Yeah you do. A few months ago when you brought that girl back to my house. Y'all met then dad. This is Toni, my girlfriend."

"Oh so you're hitting that? I'm glad you said something because I was going to try and shoot my shot."

"Martin we don't have time for that. We have to go over the possibility of what could happen to Juliet. Things aren't going as planned." The attorney said.

I grabbed Toni's hand and we walked into the hallway. I knew this would be a long and somewhat hectic convo.

Toni and I kissed passionately before going our separate ways. I rushed back into my office and overheard something that disturbed me.

"So that's the Toni chick? We've got to get her to testify for Juliet." Attorney Thompson said to my dad.

"Yeah. I'll look into that and if she doesn't I'll make sure to handle her real good." My dad said as he smirked.

I cleared my throat catching both of them off guard.

"Hey son! There you are we were just talking about you and stuff. Lets look over these documents I got a tee time in two hours."
