Chapter 2: Familiar People

"Ughhh! There's awfully a lot of ayakashis here!" You groaned while slicing your foes which blocks your way. You spun in midair as you jumped from one ayakashi to another, piercing them while at it. You cheerfully jumped on top of a lamppost after you finished your job. "That was another job well done, Riku!" You let yourself fall to the ground, landing perfectly with your feet. "Now, I can rest assure and watch (f/a) later."

Riku, who just came back to his human form, frowned as he watched you walking away from the scene. "You lazy weaboo god." He followed after you and pulled out his cellphone. "Hey, we're not done yet."

"Hmmm? Why?" You snatched his phone and looked over at the new post in your website. You smirked as you find the person who posted it interesting. "Heh~ Kazuma, huh?"

"Who's that?" Riku asked after hearing the unfamiliar name.

"I'm sure you've already heard of Bishamonten, am I right? Kazuma is one of hers. He's the one who leads his fellow shinkis in battle." You answered.

"Bishamonten? You mean one of the seven Gods of Fortune? What does a famous and respectable god wanted to do with a good-for-nothing like you?" He emphasized the insulting word to tease you.

You clenched your fist and glared at him. "Have you forgotten that I saved you three months ago?!"

"Saved? But without me you'll also be good as dead that time." He countered.

You don't have objections so you gave up on arguing with him. "Hmph. Whatever." It was true that he was useful and obedient to you these past few months he spent with you. He never once blighted you nor did he disobeyed you. Although, most of the time he would tease you about being an infamous god and do what he wants when you don't have any work but that was all there is to it.

You reached the place where Kazuma asked you to check out and apparently there is a storm in there. The job is to slay ayakashis in that certain place and clear the depravity consuming the people there. Since Bishamon has a meeting in Takamagahara and cannot do her job, she ordered Kazuma to pass her work on to the other minor gods who's near at the area and this is how you got the job.

You jumped on the first ayakashi you saw and called your shinki. "Saki!"

Riku turned into his weapon form and flew to your hand.

You started killing the ayakashis around you one by one just like how you did earlier. You finished your work as quickly as possible with the help of Riku's ability to accurately throw blades of wind to an enemy. "And we're done here!" You stood on top of the tallest building at the place and looked at the sight of the storm disappearing from the sky. "Revert, Riku!"

"That was tiring." Your shinki sighed in relief after he returned to his body.

You are about to jumped down to a rooftop of a nearby building when something interesting caught your eye. You smirked once again as you spot a certain dark haired man with his sharp blue eyes wearing a navy blue tracksuit falling with three other people in a building just a street away from where you are. "This day seems to be full of wonderful surprises."

"Huh? What are you saying?" Riku looked at you in confusion then shifted his gaze to the people you are watching. "What the heck are those people doing?! Are they suicidal?!"

"There's no need to worry about them. Look. They're already falling for several minutes but they haven't touched the ground yet." You answered without taking your eyes off at the God of Calamity. "Looks like Yato made some new friends."

"You know them?"

"An acquaintance of mine is with them." You walked to the direction towards where the people who intrigued you are. "Let's have a little detour, Riku." You grabbed your shinki's hand.

"Hey! Wait wait wait!!! Don't!" He complained before you jumped off the building down to the streets. "AHHHHHHH!!!"

At Yato, Yukine, and Hiyori's side...

"I can't believe that it was Kofuku-san who dated Yusuke-san. Let alone that she's a God of Poverty." Hiyori exclaimed while following Yato and Yukine after their long fall. "That surprised me." She turned to Yukine with a warm and cheerful smile. "And what you did back there is amazing, Yukine-kun!"

Yukine blushes and looked away with both of his hands on his hoodie's pocket. "I-It was nothing."

"Isn't he?! That's why I snatched him from the get-go!" Yato wrapped his arm on Yukine's neck and rubbed his cheek on him.

"Get away from me! You reek of sweat!" The young boy shooed him away with a disgusted look on his face.

"Stop complaining, Yukine! And here I went as far as to compliment you! You should be grateful!" Yato retorted while Hiyori snickered as she watched them.

"Oya, oya? Look who's having a good time." A feminine voice spoke as a certain (h/c) haired girl jumped from a passing truck. "How have you been, Yatogami?" She mischievously smirk as she eyed Yato with her glowing (e/c) eyes.

"So you've finally showed yourself, (y/n)." Yato and the others stopped walking after you suddenly showed up. He had a serious expression on his face. "What do you want from me?"

You shaked your hands and displayed a friendly expression. "Nothing. I only wanted to say hello to an old friend of mine. Is that bad, Yato-chan?" You purposely added the informality at the end of his name to annoy him.

"You can't fool me, (y/n). Did that man sent you here?" He asked with suspicion. "Leave me alone. I'm not going back to those days again."

"Heh? You shouldn't accuse people without evidence. That's disrespectful, Yato-chan. Besides, I never planned on following him from the start." You sighed as he gave you another glare. You knew that he won't listen to anything you'd say so you decided to fight him instead. "This isn't going anywhere. Not that you'll even believe me." You raised your hand and called your sacred vessel who's standing behind you while leaning on the wall. "Come, Saki!"

"You little b*tch." He cursed under his breath. "Sekki!" He held his vessel which is in a form of a naked blade and jumped away from where he was standing after you attacked him.

"Oh! What happened?! Have you become a scaredy cat, Yato-chan?!" You chased after him and swayed your katana, creating several blades of wind.

"Tch." Yato clicked his tongue as most of Saki's attack made many small cuts on several parts of his body.

"Oi, Yato! Who's that chick?!" Yukine asked him in surprise of your attack.

"She's someone whom you can call a grim reaper. Someone who kills people." He answered wiping the blood that came from a cut on his cheek. He turned to you and smirked uncomfortably. "That's a nice shinki you got there. It would be a shame if you kill him like the previous ones."

Your eyes widened in surprise as you gripped Saki tightly in your hands. You changed your expression and glared daggers at him. "Don't you dare talk about the past, Yatogami."
