You stared at the bright full moon in the sky, mesmerizing about the event that happened in this same day hundred years ago. "Sora." You wrote his name in the dust of the window. "I hope that Sora is still there. Deep in those clouded eyes I hope you're still there."
Unknown to you, an ash blonde boy gazed at the large sakura tree by the river silently. Unlike his usual sly expression, a solemn look is displayed in his bright crimson eyes as he gently smiled. "Maybe you've already forgotten about it, (y/n)." He heaved a sigh and touched his blind eye. "Well, it's clearly my fault too."
"(f/n)-sama! Is it fine if (y/n)-sama plays with us?" The young girl asked her master as you sat at the porch while watching the other kids playing.
The old man stared at you and called your name. "What do you think, (y/n)? Do you want to go outside for a bit?"
"Outside?" You repeated before gazing at the others again then nodded shyly. "Mhm."
The girl beamed then grabbed your hand and pulled you. "Let's go, (y/n)-sama!"
The children were hesistant to you at first. They didn't know how to treat a god they're age since they are only shinkis. Although, it's not just because of the fact that you're a god. It's because you are a God of Death.
(f/n), a God of Fortune found you covered with blood after you killed a whole village infected with an incurable disease. He adopted you, took you to his shelter, and introduced you to his shinkis as his daughter.
The kids decided to play hide and seek and you need to find a hiding place before the seeker starts to look for you and the others. You ended up getting separated with them as you wandered in the town nearby, still looking for a hiding place.
"I wonder if they could still find me here." You thought loudly while you looked around.
The sun is already gone and the moon finally appeared yet nobody showed up to find you. You wondered if they have forgotten about you or they didn't thought of searching the town.
You walked by the riverside on your way home while staring at the bright full moon above the starry sky. "It's pretty."
"Smells... nice..." Several eyes glowed in front of you. It's attention averted from a spirit to you.
"R-Run! I-I'll distract it so escape now!" The spirit shouted as he faced the ayakashis while spreading his arms, trying to protect you. He glanced at you when you stayed and still stood behind him. "What are you doing?! You don't want to- H-Hey!"
You dragged him with you and ran to the opposite direction. "This is the first time I saw someone dead who wants to die again."
"H-Huh? What do you mean?" He asked before realizing that he is certainly already dead. "Oh right. I died."
You stayed at a nearby shrine for a while, aware that it is the safest place at the moment and it is too dangerous to walk back home with the ayakashis wandering around.
"Hey, is it usual not to remember anything before I died?" The boy asked with curiosity.
"I guess for the likes of you, it's a common case." You answered.
"What do you mean by 'the likes of you'? Aren't you the same?"
You shook your head. "Us gods were born from humans' wishes. We don't have memories living in the Near shore since we didn't became mortals in the first place."
"Gods? Humans' wishes? Near shore?" He repeated in confusion. "H-Huh?"
You sighed in exhaustion. "Anyways, you haven't found a master yet, do you?"
