"(y/n)! Oi! (y/n)!" Riku kept on shouting your name. He couldn't do anything since he is still in his vessel form. "Dammit."

You lie helplessly on the ground as the red dragon-like ayakashi kept on saying the word 'help'. Tears are welling up on your dull (e/c) eyes as you coughed blood. The marks of blight kept on spreading all over your body.

"(y/n)!" Riku desperately called your name as the ayakashi slowly made it's way towards you. He braced his self after seeing it about to hit you with it's tail.

Luckily, Reo who was watching from the sidelines made it on time and immediately leaped and carried you away from it. "What the hell is that thing?" He winced from the pain as blight also spreads on his hands. "Tch. You're really troublesome, (y/n)."

"Reo!" Riku said in surprise after seeing the jet black haired teen. 'We won't be able to kill that thing at this rate.'

"(y/n)!" Haku called you from behind as you ran towards the old shrine where you met him a month ago. "Are you that excited to go here?"

The two of you often go here when you and Sorata doesn't have work. You haven't told him about Haku yet as you do not know what his reaction will be. He kept on reminding you that you shouldn't make other shinkis except for him and that's why you're afraid of telling him.

"Say, Haku, what makes you happy?" You asked out of the blue while looking at the flowers near the shrine.

"Of course, it's being with you, my dear (y/n)-sama." He pulled one of the flowers and placed it above your ear.

Your cheeks flushed red after seeing his same gentle smile. "Y-You need something, don't you?"

He chuckled and then sat at the stairs of the shrine. "I'm not lying, (y/n). I'm telling the truth. Just seeing you smile makes me happy."

You blandly looked at him. "You're too cheesy."

He laughed once again. "Is that so? But I'm really telling the truth. If not, then you should have known it by now."

'Well, that is indeed true.' You thought to yourself. "Hey, Haku. Why does it seems like nothing is troubling you?"

"What else would trouble me, (y/n)?" He asked.

"Like the fact that you're already dead." You answered directly.

He messed up your hair. "Do not ask that question to other shinkis, got that? Their feeling will also affect their masters."

"But you did not, Haku." You protested.

"Because I don't want to hurt you, (y/n). Besides, thinking about what happened when I was still alive is pointless. You cannot bring those back anymore." He answered.

'You cannot bring it back anymore.' Your mind repeated as you remembered about what happened in his past life.

Katsuragi Akira was the son of a shogun (commander in chief) and was one of the youngest and strongest soldier of the army during his time. The reigning emperor at that time was weak and too kind that some of the soldiers were against his way of governance which then resulted to a coup d'etat. In the end, he was killed in the war by his most trusted best friend yet also his sworn enemy.

'Forgive me, Akira. This is for the sake of our country.'

'You cannot bring it back anymore. The sins you have done and the lives of our kin. Someday, you'll pay for it, Hyuuga.'
