"Riku-san. Res-"
"Yukine. Restraint." Your shinki chanted before the boy does it to him. They were practicing again under Suzuha's sakura. "Kazuma-san, don't you think we ought to say to him the right way to chant it?"
Your eyes darted to him as he laughed at Yukine. He held a marker on his dominant hand and drew on the boy's forehead. "No, no, let him figure it out by himself."
You couldn't help but smile while watching them. They seemed like they were having fun. Your attention drifted involuntarily towards Kazuma, studying his features carefully. His eyes shone beneath his glasses like emeralds. The wind blew and messed his soft auburn hair. He is certainly good-looking. With or without those black frames.
You sprawled yourself on the grass and stared at the sky. You couldn't get rid of his image from your mind. His attempt of confessing his feelings to you made it worst. The two of you almost kissed. The thought embarrassed you as the wind blew again along with dust, making you blink.
Bishamon stood a few distance above your head. Her purple orbs had the hint of amusement. "Eyeing Kazuma, are you?"
You sat up immediately and played innocent. "What are you talking about?"
The war god sat beside you. She wore normal combat clothes without her other shinkis. "He told me what happened."
"A lot happened these previous weeks. So, which one?"
"His rejection and Yato's absence. I'd rather you talk about the latter, but I suppose you still won't." She gazed at you with a bit of dissatisfaction. "Kazuma's confession. How was it?"
You shrugged, looking at the horizon. "I don't know."
"Kazuma's feelings are real. I hope you know that. I'm sure it reached you, (y/n). Until now, he's feeling the same. He is trying to suppress it as what you had said to him." She watched her shinki unaware of her and your presence. "He loves you dearly, (y/n)."
You sighed and glanced at her. "Are you trying to make me feel guilty, Bishamon?"
"No," it was an answer you had expected, "I want to know your feelings towards him."
You shove a few strands of your (h/c) hair as it fell in front of your face. "Why does it matter?" You hugged your legs and hid your face. "It won't change anything. All I can do is watch him from afar."
Bishamon stared at you before smiling. A solemn one which, you knew, meant pity. "You adore him too, don't you? Why not tell him?"
"What are you thinking?" You shifted your gaze to her. "We gods are not capable of human emotions. What we do and what we don't doesn't matter to us. It won't affect us. Kazuma used to be a human, it won't do him any good. Besides, is it okay if he stung you alot while we are together?"
The war god breathed. "Does loving someone seemed so wrong to you?"
"No, but what comes next is what I'm talking about."
"Then, perhaps, changing is not a requirement at all." She had a point. What are you worrying about in the first place? You know how gentle and composed Kazuma is. Then, you realized that you are probably scared.
"I..." You gulped out of nervousness. "Is it really okay?"
"Why not?"
"Look, it's (y/n) and Bishamon-sama!" You heard Yukine talking to Riku and Kazuma. You panicked and tried to escape until the war god yanked you with the back of your hoodie.
"Where do you think you're going?" She threw a menacing look at you before throwing you down the slope.
"You crazy bitch!!!" You screamed as you rolled on the grass until a pair of arms caught you. Your eyes fluttered open, seeing a pair of familiar emerald ones. You blushed and stood up before you find yourself adoring his features. You awkwardly blurted, "M-Man, y-you guys had dinner yet?"
