"Yato! Oi! Yato!" You called to him as he walks ahead of you. "Don't just ignore me."

You just went back from Bishamon's place while Yukine left earlier than you, leaving you and Yato alone. He's walking in a fast pace and not uttering a single word. You don't remember doing anything wrong for him to be upset to you and ignore you like this.

"Yato!" You called again only to be just ignored. "What the hell is your problem?!" You sighed. "Fine! Do what you want!"

Minutes later, Yato turned to look at you, noticing your disappearance. You weren't following him anymore. He didn't really planned to look for you and thought  that it might be best to leave you alone for a while. He was about to continue on walking back home when he heard a familiar sound that a certain someone creates before appearing.

He paused without looking beside him. "What do you want, Nora?"

"Are you sure you don't want to look for (y/n), Yato?" Nora said with her usual small smile.

His eyes widen in surprise and glared at Nora who was satisfied with his reaction. "What did you do to her?!"

She giggled silently before disappearing in a blink of an eye. "I wonder."

"Damn it. Is it him again?!" Yato thought aloud as he turned back to where he last saw you and searched. "(y/n)!" He then saw a glimpse of your (h/c) hair on a street by the intersection. He quickly ran to it, following your tracks.

At your side...

"What's his problem?" You said as you balanced on the railings of the footbridge. "Suddenly, ignoring me like that. How cruel..." You remembered what he did the last time you two are together and reminiscing about the old times. (see Yato's route 2) Your face heated up, causing you to lose balance.

You closed your eyes, preparing yourself before hitting the cement. You were surprised to see a young man with light brown hair and red eyes. 'He... can see me?'

"Are you alright?" He asked his big red orbs looking at yours in worry. "You're not thinking of killing yourself, are you?"

'So he doesn't know about us. It's weird though. This is the first time I met this guy but his voice sounds oddly familiar.' You thought as you quickly hop off him. "Yeah, I'm fine and I'm not trying to suicide. I just use to do that for fun. Sorry for troubling you."

"As long as you're fine." He answered with a smile. "Don't do that again. You might die next time."

"Yup~ I'll keep that in mind." You said as you walked pass him.

"Well, you will die next time." He muttered in a low voice.

"You can't be-" Your eyes widen in realization as you turned to him who disappeared out of sight only to find a white mask in the ground.

As you were about to pick the mask, a large shadow appeared in the ground.

You looked above to see a shark-like ayakashi opening it's big mouth with sharp teeth ready to bite into your flesh. "What... the... f*ck." Your (e/c) eyes widen, thinking it would be your last moment as it dives towards you.

Warmth covered you and a pair of blue eyes met yours. His expression showed a hint of sadness and relief now that your safe in his arms. His hands holding your back and head, saving you from death.

"Yato..." You called his name while he shifted his eyes to the stray watching the two of you from afar.

"Nora, leave (y/n) alone. If there's anything you want from me, don't involve her and the others." He told her in a serious tone.

She giggled while eyeing you. "Not when Father said she'll die next time."

"I'm telling you. Stay away from her..." This time he gave her his final warning. "... if you don't want me to revoke your name, Nora."

"Can you?" Nora asked Yato who remained silent before turning to you with a scowl in her face. "(y/n), I hope you understand our warning. There's no escaping death next time." She then vanished in a blink of an eye with the ayakashi.

Yato released you and was about to walk away again when you stopped him. "What?"

You gripped his hand tightly, having no intention to let go. "I know what you're trying to do."

He didn't turned to look back at you. "(y/n), it's for the best. The sorcerer... My father won't stop unless he get what he wants and that's me. While I'm staying here, I'm also involving you and the others to my own problems." He clenched your hand tightly yet gently. "I'm entrusting Yukine and Hiyori to you, (y/n)."

You smacked his head as hard as you can with your free hand.

"Ow! What was that-" He paused after hearing your sobs and watched you wiping away your tears that kept on falling.

You glanced at him while you're still crying and then covered your face from him. "Don't look at me, idiot!"

"Stop crying." He said plainly.

"I'm not!" You denied.

"You obviously are."

"I SAID NO!"

You heard him sighed in defeat before touching the back of your head, pushing you to his chest. "W-w-w-what are you doing, y-you s-s-stupid bastard?!"

"Stop complaining. You're not even pulling away." He muttered. "Besides... I hate seeing you crying like that. Well, it's my fault too."

You cannot see his face or his expression, given that you don't want him to see yours too. You can feel your face heating up as you let him wrap his arms around your waist. "Yato."

"Are you done crying?" He asked while pulling away from you.

You looked away from him, trying not to meet his gaze. "You're not going anywhere. You're not going to disappear again like before. You're not entrusting Yukine and Hiyori to me. And you're not facing your father alone. We're doing this together, Yato."

"(y/n), like I told you, I'm only en-"

"When it comes to that, you'll protect us. That's what you said months ago." This time you stared right at his blue orbs. "And you're not going to do that alone. You have me, Riku, Yukine, and Hiyori-chan. We'll face him. All of us. Together."

Yato's blue cat-like eyes widened in surprise of your words. A pink hue appearing in his cheeks. "You really are stubborn, (y/n)."

"That's a promise then."
