Jack is waiting at his locker for Jackie. He knew he screwed up big time. Jackie has been ignoring his calls, leaving him on read since the day she told him she is pregnant. She switched the times she comes to her locker just to avoid him.
It's been two weeks since she told him. He didn't mean to hurt her, he's just scared. Scared of the fact that now he has to tell his parents that he's gotten his girlfriend pregnant, most importantly isn't ready to be a father especially the age of eighteen.
Jackie is walking down the hallway and she see Jack standing at his locker which is directly next to hers.
She doesn't want to talk to him let alone see his face. It's the end of the day and she didn't want to take all her books home from her last three classes, plus her homework from her morning classes is in her locker.
She knows that he's been trying to contact her over the past two weeks. She's ignores his calls, don't respond to his texts, instructed the maids and butlers to tell him that she isn't home, even when she is.
Also orchestrating leaving through different exits at the end of the day. Even re-arranging what times she went to her lockers to get her books. Thankfully they didn't have the same lunch. Hers is during the fourth period. His lunch is during the sixth period.
But now he stayed at his locker, obviously waiting for her. She sighs.
Just ignore him, Jackie, pretend like he's not even there, she says to herself over and over again in her head.
"Jackie we need to talk," Jack says as soon as she comes to her locker, "Jackie! Jacqueline Bouvier, I know you hear me talking to you," he says standing close to her as she quickly puts her books in her locker. She doesn't reply and grabs her two Advanced Placement books.
"Jackie, I'm sorry. I was being selfish and acting like an ass. I didn't mean what I said," he says moving even closer.
Again she doesn't respond or even looks his way. She zips up her bag and closes her locker.
"Jackie talk to me!" Jack says his voice getting louder.
He grabs her arm and pulls her to him.
"Jackie...please let me take you home. We need to talk, considering what's going on between us," he stares deep into her brown eyes. She looks at him and snatched her arm away before walking around him.
Frustrated Jack runs a hand through his hair. He isn't used to not getting his way, especially when it came to females. Usually, his charm won them over; but Jackie Bouvier isn't like the average female. He follows her down the hallways before scooping her up in his arms.
"John Kennedy, put me down!" she screams pushing him.
"Not until you talk to me," he says walking into one of the empty classrooms. He sits her down on the empty desk before closing the door.
"Now, we're gonna talk," he says standing in front of her with his hands on both sides of the desk.
"There's nothing else to talk about, you've made it clear to me what it was all about. Now move so I can go home," Jackie replies sharply.
"No, I'm not moving until we talk about this. Now I said I was sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm scared Jackie, I'm terrified. I'm not ready to be a father; I'm only eighteen years old. Children weren't supposed to come into the picture until I turn thirty or older."
"How do you think I feel Jack? I'm sixteen, I have two more years before I graduate from high school. You'll be graduating in the spring and going off to college while I'm stuck here raising our baby. You're worried about your Harvard scholarship and football; but what about me? What about my future that is now going to change? I'll have this baby twenty-four seven while your off living your life without any cares. I had plans of graduating and moving to Paris to go to school, now which I doubt I'll be able to do," Jackie says before tears run down her cheek.
Jack feels his heart sink.
"You never loved me, Jack, you only used me. Now that you're in trouble; you're just gonna walk away and leave me here to fix this all on my own. I'm gonna keep this baby and raise it by myself. I've laid there and let you do this to me, now I have to take responsibility for my actions. Unlike you I don't want to take the easy way out," she says pushing him. She gets off the desk and storms out.
He picks up his bag and runs after her.
"Jackie, wait!" She quickly runs down the steps not wanting to him to see how he has broken her heart into a thousand pieces.
"Jackie you can't keep running from me," he yells out his voice echoing in the stairwell.
"Leave me alone Jack!" she yells back.
When she gets to the first floor, she busts through the doors and heads towards the main exit.
"Jackie," is the last thing she hears. Next thing she knows everything around her goes black.
"Ms. Bouvier, are you ok?" Jackie hears a feminine voice. She opens her eyes and looks around.
"Where am I?"
"Ms. Bouvier, how many fingers am I holding up?" the feminine voice asks again.
"Two. Where am I?"
"You're in the nurse's office Jackie," she hears the familiar male voice.
"Why am I here?"
"Unfortunately Ms. Bouvier, you were running down the hallway when the Vice Principal opened his office door and you ran into it." the nurse says.
"Oh," she replies closing her eyes due to the lights not helping the splitting headache she has from her accident.
"Can you tell me who you are Ms. Bouvier?"
"Yeah, I'm Jacqueline Bouvier."
The nurse keeps her for another half hour for observation before letting her go home.
"Jackie let me take you home," Jack says.
"No you've done enough," she replies.
"Please? I already feel guilty about what's happening. Can I at least take you home so I know you got there safely."
"I'm fine Jack, please just leave me alone," she says adjusting the ice pack on her head.
"You're being ridiculous..."
"No you are; you just think you can turn on your charm and I'll just melt. I may be young, but I'm not dumb," she yells over her shoulder as she walked towards the corner while she tries to order her Uber.
Growing impatient with Jackie's attitude, he goes up to her grabs her phone and cancels her Uber before picking her up carrying her towards his car.
"John Kennedy put me down!"
"I will when I get you home."
Even though she didn't want to admit let alone tell him. She missed being in his arms, but his words broke her heart.
