Jacqueline Turns Seventeen

Jack is sitting at his desk in his room tapping his pencil against his desk. Jackie's birthday is this weekend and he wants to do something special. He really cares about Jackie and feels like he didn't know how he could repay her. Considering how much her life is going to change because of him.

Sure he can take her out to dinner, but he wants to do something more. Something that he can show her how important she and the baby are to him.

On Monday they went to another doctor's visit and there was an ultrasound done. This ultrasound was to tell them what they were having.

Jackie held the envelope the entire ride back home as she said that she didn't want to know. Jack, however, wanted to know what they were having. Since Jackie didn't want to know, he decided he might as well be surprised also.

Jack is distracted from his thoughts when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in," Jack says.

Joe opens the door. "Hey, Jack."

"Hey, Joe."

"What's wrong with you?" Joe asks sitting down across from Jack.

"Nothing, just trying to figure out what to do for Jackie's birthday."

"That's right her birthday is on Saturday. Jack that's only two days away; why did you wait so late?"

"I didn't mean to, I got so caught up in getting ready to go to Harvard and getting ready for the baby that I forgot."

"Well little bro, I wish you all the luck. I hope you figure something out in the next forty-eight hours," Joe says ruffling Jack's hair before walking out.

Jack looks at himself in the mirror to see if Joe did any damage.

He really only has forty-eight hours and he has to think of something fast.

Despite putting everything together last minute, Jack was able to make Jackie's birthday special. He took her out to dinner, thanks to his credit card his father gave him. Then he took her to the carnival that was in town.

He played a few games winning her a teddy bear. He also wanted to show off his strength by playing the "strong man game" where he rang the bell, this time he won her an even larger teddy bear.

"For you beautiful," Jack says presenting Jackie a larger bear the size of a toddler.

"Thank you, Jack, I'll put it in the baby's room," Jackie says rubbing the small bump that is beginning to show.

Jack smiles and gave Jackie a kiss.

"Why don't we get on the Ferris Wheel," Jack says putting his arm around her waist.

"Ok, sounds good.

They go get in line and get into one of the passenger cars.

Round and round they go until the Ferris wheel stops and their car is at the top.

"Wow look at that sight," Jack says putting his arm around Jackie.

"It's beautiful," Jackie says lying her head on Jack's shoulder.

He places a kiss on her forehead.

Now he thinks is the best time to give her her birthday present.

"Jackie there is something I want to give you," Jack says taking a small box out of his pocket.

"Oh Jack you didn't have to get me anything, tonight has been special enough," Jackie replies smiling.

"I want to, besides you mean a lot to me Jackie. You're about to make me a father and you are changing your whole life around because of me. I want to show you my appreciation and how much I love you."

"Oh Jack you're so sweet," Jackie replies giving Jack a kiss.

"Open the box."

"Ok, ok," Jackie replies with a giggle.

She opens the box and sees a gold ring with a topaz stone.

"It's a promise ring with our baby's birthstone."

"Oh Jack it's beautiful," Jackie replies putting the ring on her finger.

She holds it up to the light and lets it sparkle.

"Thank you, Jack," Jackie replies giving him a kiss.

"No Jackie, thank you. Happy Birthday Beautiful," Jack replies moving in again and this time they share a passionate kiss.
