It's been a month since Jack's accident, he has made a remarkable recovery. He is working on learning to walk without a walker but now just with the assistance of a cane.
Of course, when he returned to school all the girls want to help the most popular boy in school. Girls line up at the school entrance wanting to carry his book bag and books for him.
Despite the appreciated hospitality of his many admirers; there is only one girl he wants next to him.
Jackie of course never said anything or is rude, but he can tell it annoys her. Especially in the morning when she would pull up and the girls would run-up to the car.
He would politely decline their advances and help, but he knows it's not fair to Jackie.
Since leaving the hospital, Jackie has never left his side. She comes to his house to bring him his work so he could keep up. Eat dinner with him in his room. Bathing him before going home for the night.
Thinking back to what he said to her the day she told him she is pregnant, he knew he is being ridiculous and very stupid.
They still have yet to get back together officially, but they officially never broke up either.
They are sitting in his bedroom doing their homework. He looks over at her and admires the sight before him. She is sitting there into her AP Biology book doing her work.
The only sound is the sound of their breathing and the scraping of the pencil against the paper.
He gets up to go to the bathroom.
"You need me to help you, Jack?" Jackie asks sounding concerned.
"No, I'm fine," he says slowly getting off his bed.
When he returns he slowly comes up behind Jackie and places a kiss on her neck.
"Oh Jack, you scared me!"
"I'm sorry baby," he says before kissing the same spot again.
"Jack stop," she says trying to move away from him.
"What I can't kiss my girl?"
Jackie looks at him and sighs.
"What? We never broke up Jackie so you still are my girlfriend," he replies sitting down on the bed.
"I don't know Jack."
"You never said it was over."
"I guess Jack," Jackie replies putting a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
"Jackie, I don't know what else I could do to prove to you that I want to be with you."
She doesn't reply and looks down at her French textbook.
"Jackie."
She looks up at him and she can't deny the fact that her feelings for Jack ran deep. Getting lost in those beautiful blue eyes, the feeling of his strong arms wrapped around her. The heavy make-out sessions in the back of his mustang.
"Can't we just start over?"
She looks at him and sighs again.
"Yes Jack, we can start over."
Jack smiles.
"Come here," he says.
Jackie gets up and gets into Jack's arms. He places a soft kiss on her forehead.

It's another Friday afternoon they find themselves sitting in the doctor's office for Jackie's third visit since finding out she is pregnant. This is Jack's first visit with her and he is excited to see his unborn child via ultrasound.
"So, my family is having dinner for my birthday next Saturday," Jack says breaking the silence between them.
"I know, Kathleen was telling me."
"Are you coming?"
"Yes, Jack I'll be there."
He looks at her and can tell something is wrong.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing, just don't know why you didn't tell me about the party Lem and Paul is throwing for you."
"You didn't give me a chance."
"Whatever Jack, I've known about this party for a whole week and I've seen you every day and not once did you bring up the party."
"I'm sorry Jackie, I wasn't purposely trying to not to tell you about it."
"Sure, Jack."
He sighs and he takes her hand.
"Jackie, you know if anyone I would want to be there it's you," he says before kissing the back of her hand.
"Sure Jack, why would you want your Sophomore girlfriend at a party full of Juniors and Seniors."
"Jackie I was going to tell you but I honestly forgot, with all that's going on. Getting ready for graduation, studying for finals; it slipped my mind."
"Ok Jack, it's fine."
"You're still mad at me."
"No, I'm not, I'm fine."
He studies her for a minute before he could say something...
"Ms. Bouvier, you can follow me," says the nurse.
They both get up and follow the nurse to the examination room.
