The First Time

The Shower

Jackie has just finished getting Arabella dressed for the baby shower/three-week celebration that her parents are throwing for her and Jack. She and Bella have only been home for two weeks and the party was planned later to give Jackie some time to recuperate from her major surgery.

Jackie quickly dressed as fast as her body allowed. Her abdomen is still sore and she has been feeling very tired due to lack of sleep.

As she is putting on her earrings, there is a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" Jackie asks.

"It's Brad," the voice responds.

"Come in."

The door opens and Brad walks in.

"Wow don't you look beautiful," Brad says.

"Thank you," Jackie replies blushing.

Brad walks over to the bassinet where he sees Arabella asleep.

"She's grown so much in the past three weeks," Brad whispers not wanting to wake the baby up.

"I know, the doctor says she is now seven pounds."

"How much did she weigh when you had her?"

"Six pounds, four ounces."

"Have you been getting enough rest?"

"I've been trying but Ms. Kennedy doesn't seem to understand the concept of time," Jackie replies jokingly.

"I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you get a chance to get some rest soon."

"Oh, I will. Jack is keeping Bella next week."

"Good," Brad says sitting down next to Jackie.

Jackie smiles and Brad smiles as he moves in to kiss her.

Just as their lips touch there is a knock at the door.

Jackie sighs and asks, "who is it?"

"It's Lee! I've come to get my niece!" Lee yells through the door.

"Come in," Jackie says.

Lee walks in and squeals when she sees Arabella in her outfit.

"She looks so adorable!!!"

"Shhh! Quiet Lee, she hasn't been asleep that long," Jackie says.

"Fine, fine! I'm still taking her with me though," Lee replies slowly picking up Arabella.

"You know if I recall Caroline, I'm the one who gave birth to her. Yet you act as if she's is your daughter."

"See that's the best part of being an aunt! You can take your niece when you want and give her back when you're tired."

Jackie shakes her head and smiles. She is happy Lee is so hands-on with Bella. So helpful when she just needs a short break. Of course, Lee makes sure she is stuck with the dirty diaper duty.

"I'm gonna take her downstairs, guests are starting to arrive," Lee says walking towards the door, "besides you and Brad can go back to kissing."

Brad smiles and Jackie lies her head on Brad's shoulder to hide her red cheeks.

Once Lee left the room, they share a quick kiss.

"I guess we should go downstairs to join your guests," Brad says this time placing a kiss on her cheek.

"Ok."

Jack and his family have arrived. Once he is finished speaking he gets ready to go upstairs to talk with Jackie. Soon as he gets to the bottom of the steps, he sees Brad carrying Jackie down the steps.
