The First Time

Arrival

It's Christmas Eve when Jackie and Lee finish wrapping the last of their gifts.

"Hey Jacks, do you have any more tape?" Lee asks looking up at Jackie from the floor.

"Yes," Jackie says tossing Lee the tape.

"Don't you just love the onesies I brought my niece!?" Lee says showing Jackie the onesies she brought.

Jackie shakes her head before taking them.

"' If you think I'm cute you should see my Auntie?' 'Auntie's Bestie.' Very cute Lee; funny you didn't think to get anything that talks about mom," Jackie says looking at both onesies.

"You're gonna get a lot of that stuff at the baby shower when she gets here. Let Auntie Lee get some love too," Lee says to Jackie's stomach.

Jackie giggles as she hands back the onesies. "Well, Auntie Lee can also help with diapers and feedings too since she wants to get some love too."

"Maybe Jacks, I don't really do smells," Lee says sitting down on the bed with Jackie.

"I'm glad I wrapped your gift already. Besides I don't think it'll be that bad."

"I don't know Jackie, I've heard baby diapers can be brutal."

"Well, we'll find out when the baby gets here."

"When my niece gets here. Say it with me Jackie...it's a girl!"

"No, I don't know what I am having. I'm going to love my child regardless if its a boy or girl. Besides Lee, what's wrong with having a little boy?"

"Because Jackie! What about the little tea parties, dressing her up in cute outfits with tutus and bows. Shopping trips when she gets older. Sharing secrets about boys and gossip. You know the stuff we did when we were younger playing with dolls and now, minus you chasing me with Danseuse."

Jackie rolls her eyes and smiles. "Yes, it would be fun to have little tea parties and dressing up."

"Exactly, with your luck Jackie if its a boy it'll come out looking like Jack," Lee says facepalming.

"Hey! Jack isn't ugly! He is very handsome and if its a boy he will be very handsome like his father," Jackie giggles again throwing her pillow at Lee. 

"I'm not saying that Jack is ugly. I'm just saying do you think the world is ready for another John Kennedy?"

"Why not? Do you think the world is ready for another Jacqueline Bouvier?"

"I don't know, but I just know I can't wait until you get here," Lee says this time rubbing Jackie's stomach again.

"He or she will be here very soon, I am due to go into the hospital on the 28th."

"I know and I can't wait! You know what would be even more exciting?"

"What?" Jackie asks wrapping her last gift.

"If you had the baby tonight or tomorrow on Christmas day. Wouldn't that be the best present ever?"

"Yes it would," Jackie replies.

Jackie wakes up it's a little past four am when she feels a sharp pain through her stomach. Once the pain subsides she sits up and holds her stomach. She takes a few deep breaths and again another pain shoots through her causing her to cry out.

She reaches over and grabs her cell phone to call her mother. Soon as she hangs up Janet runs into her bedroom.

"Jacqueline dear, what's wrong?"
