Jackie is holding Jack's hand as they pass Joe's photo at the memorial his family holds for him. Jack squeezes her hand tightly as he looks at the last photo that was taken of his brother the day before he was killed.

Bella burrows her face into her father's neck, trying to sleep. Jack places a kiss on Bella's cheek.

After everyone is seated Father Richard O'Leary begins the memorial.

Jack and Jackie walk out of the church once the memorial is over holding hands. Over the past week, Jackie had been staying close to Jack, making sure she and Bella is a source of comfort.

Once they are inside Jack's car, he sits there's and sighs.

"Are you ok?" Jackie asks.

"It just feels so unreal. My brother is really dead," Jack replies softly.

Jackie takes his hand and squeezes it, as she can hear the pain in his voice.

"Daddy, can we go to McDonald's?" Bella asks.

"Sure Belle," Jack says.

While they are sitting in the booth Jack is watching as Bella feeds herself another French Fry.

"Jack are you sure you don't want to eat something?" Jackie asks before sticking a fry into her mouth.

"No, I'm not hungry. I'll be fine." Jack replies.

"Jack honey you haven't eaten since lunch yesterday," Jackie says wiping Bella's mouth.

Jack's eyes brightened a little when he heard her call him "honey."

"I'm worried about you," Jackie replies.

"I'm fine Jackie. Thank you for being here with me; I really appreciate it," Jack replies.

"You're welcome Jack. That's what friends are for," Jackie replies attempting to feed Jack a french fry.

He gives her a small smile before he lets Jackie feed him. Before she can move her hand he grabs it and places a kiss on the back of her hand. Jackie looks at him her cheeks turning pink.

"Daddy! I want a kiss!" Bella says standing up in the booth.

"You Belle, get all of Daddy's kisses," Jack replies grabbing his daughter before kissing her on the cheek causing the little girl to giggle.

Later on that night Jackie is sitting on the porch of Jack's house waiting for Jack to come back from tucking Bella back into bed.

Despite the sad occasion of the day, tonight is still a beautiful night. The sky is filled with twinkling stars and a full moon. The air is warm, but due to the cool breeze from the ocean requires a simple hoodie. Yet Jackie is sporting Jack's Harvard football hoodie.

She feels like she is drowning in the oversized hoodie, but loves that it smells like Jack. His manly scent, which consists of his Axe®️ body wash and whatever fabric softener that is used on his clothes.

At this point, she can't help but feel pulled in by Jack's magic. She misses him. They say you never forget your first love. Now isn't the time to discuss her personal feelings for Jack. Right now she just needs to be there for him during this sad time in his life.

Jack comes out of the house without a shirt on revealing his chiseled upper body and his slacks from earlier. Jackie bites her her lower lip when she gets an eyeful of her ex-boyfriend's body. She thinks he looks hot and wishes she could rub her hands over those muscles like she used to do. Oh, how good it felt to feel those pecs and granite abs against her fingertips.
