I deleted a small bit of this chapter. It kind messed up the story, plus I don't think it was really important

"Here you go", the employee gave me a box of tiny, fry pieces. He was short in stature and has blond, wavy hair on the top of his head. Despite his missing an upper tooth, he was able to give me a genuine grin. I took the box from his grasps. "Thank you", I praised him with a smile. I wandered past the shop, eating the fry bits as I go. This time I was careful not to let anyone bump the food out of my grip.

I glanced up from my food, as my mouth drooped open, imperceptibly. "Oh no", I murmured, getting a headache from the sight. Steven just wandered out of The Big Donut, waving goodbye to Sadie, dramatically. He revealed his stupid little, cheesy grin and shook his arm in the air like a maniac. How could someone so dainty be so irritating?

I promptly turned my back and prayed he wouldn't see me creeping off. I began walking forward, but was prevented from going any further by someone behind me calling, "Hey! Wait up!". Please, for the love of everything, let that voice be someone else's. Or the very least, let Steven be calling after some other poor, unsuspecting victim.

I gradually spun around, before letting out a disgruntled grunt at the sight of Steven jogging after me with that dumb, grin of his. "What do you want?", I ruthlessly asked once he caught up with me. "I'm sorry if I'm keeping you from anything", he pressed his two index fingers together, restlessly. I rolled my orbs, repudiating his excuse as I continued to munch on my fries and attempt to ignore him.

"Whatever. I don't care", I waved him off. Steven began eyeing at me, with his tacky simper. "My friend Lars and I are going to a party tonight", he informed me, as if I was listening. "At the lighthouse". Steven pointed at the cliff as my gaze followed his finger. On top of it was a bewildering, tower. "You want to come?".

I instantly shook my head firmly. "I'm good. Parties aren't my thing", I shoved the empty box into Steven's chest, leaving him behind. Steven pouted, tossing the box into a nearby trash can that conveniently happened to be there. "You're not still mad about what happened yesterday, are you?", he frowned.

I crossed my arms and glanced into oblivion. What does he think? That I'll neglect everything and we'll become besties and sing 'Kumbaya'? He can go lie down and keep dreaming.

"I just don't have time for it", I jeered at him. "If you're done being annoying, I'm going to go". I began walking off, thinking that'll be the last time I'll ever see him. Thinking he would never want to attempt to be friends with someone as stubborn as me. Suddenly, a firm hand grasped onto my wrist and tugged me back. I piped in shock when I came face-to-face with Steven. In my opinion, he was a little to close to me. I could feel his puff brush against my face. He was so close I could see all the facial details and features on his appearance.

"Listen, I'm sorry I was mean, ok? I'm just not used to talking to girls", he grieved, without letting go of my wrist. Wow, what a pathetic excuse. I attempted to tug my hand out of Steven's clutches, but that just made his grip on me stiffen. He was really determined to make things right with me.

Although I was raised by a very humane family, I was still ticked off. "Listen, just stop bothering me and I'll let it go", I let out a tiny exhalation in frustration. Steven's eyes lit up with rapture and he clasped his hands together all jittery. I swear, I saw his pupils form into stars. Geez, He's adorab--Wait! No! Stop it!

"So...", he began, still showing his excited smile. "Does that mean that's a 'yes' to the party?". At first, I didn't even want to think about spending half the night with the same boy that almost drowned me. Ok, yeah it was near the shore and really shallow but, I'm trying to make a point.
